Rolling waterproofing and its application

Rolled waterproofing is a material that allows to keep heat and protect the room from the negative influence of environmental conditions. It is resistant to corrosion, salts, and also tolerant to temperature changes.

Types of roll waterproofing and the requirements for them

The market of building materials provides roll waterproofing of two options: mechanically fixed and fused. The base of the lower part of the first is fine-grained sand, and the deposited roll materials contain a layer of film that melts easily when heated. Rolled waterproofing is widely used in the installation of roofs. The quality of the roofing is determined by the resistance to corrosive environment in the presence of salts that cause corrosion. It should be water resistant and not spoil with temperature changes. An important requirement for materials is their flexibility, because it is necessary to isolate the protruding details.

Rolled waterproofing based on bitumen-polymer material

It is most often used to create flat roofs. Such a roofing waterproofing consists of several bituminous layers that are applied to the substrate, such as fiberglass, polyester or fiberglass. The top surface is covered with granulate - sand or slate. To install a waterproofing on the roof, gas burners are used , but often self-adhesive bitumen and polymer materials are used. The skeleton basis of the roll material is polyester made from randomly oriented fibers, which has a significant elongation at break, which gives it reliability and durability, allowing it to be used on objects of increased complexity.

Rolled waterproofing based on fiberglass

It consists of glass threads and is considered an option more economical. Glass fiber for production can be frame and smooth. The material is transported and stored in a horizontal position folded in several layers, which causes cracks at the corners of the rolls and deforms them. The low quality of this coating at low temperatures leads to the detachment of bitumen from the surface of the fiberglass. The best is considered a roll waterproofing on frame fiberglass, which is made of flat glass parts interwoven with glass threads. This protects it from deformation.

Rolling materials

Waterproofing of the roll type in our time is carried out using different means. The ruberoid is a bituminous material based on cardboard, it is widely used. Its advantages are simplicity of laying, but the drawback is that the cardboard is inherent in time to decompose, which limits its use. Waterproofing is a more modern material of the same type, its service life reaches 10 years, because it contains oxidized bitumen and asbestos cardboard. However, its mechanical strength is low, which is the main drawback of such a material.

Rolled waterproofing, made with the help of the latest technology, allows to achieve a sustainable protection against moisture penetration in different construction sites. It is also used in the work on the creation of the roof, and for the insulation of walls, and for the installation of road surfaces. Rolling waterproofing of the foundation of buildings for various purposes is a necessary stage of construction, including the construction of structures with high requirements for the properties of materials for waterproofing.

When performing waterproofing works, the quality of the material plays an important role. Of great importance is also the experience and knowledge of the masters who are able to perform this work, guaranteeing the long-term result of reliable service of the equipped roll waterproofing.
