What was the reason that this person spent about 5 five years next to the head of the Third Reich? And how is he Witnessed his suicide, which happened on April 30, 1945? The answers will be found in this article.

Rochus Mish: a brief biographical note

Before this man's life he did not have much information about Hitler's life. It is known that he became an early orphan. Parents of Roxus died when he was about 3 years old: his father died after his wounds in the First World War, his mother died of pneumonia.

The boy was lucky, he got to be raised to a grandson and aunt on the line of his mother. Rochus was a pupil in the folk school, since his childhood he had a talent for drawing, so it is not surprising that when he grew up, he began to earn his living by this craft.

It is known that the hero of our narrative was married and he had a daughter. Over time, the daughter of Rojus was famous for being an active advocate of the Jewish population. Researchers of the life of Rochus Misha claim that his wife, and, consequently, his daughter, were Jews. However, Mish never acknowledged this fact.

Career Military

In the ranks of the Waffen-SS, Rohuis Mish voluntarily joined in 1937. It should be noted that the soldiers who entered the service in these troops were trained as Hitler's personal bodyguards.

He was an active participant in the seizure of the Sudetenland, when the Munich agreement was adopted . During the Polish campaign, Mish suffered: a severe wound in the arm and lung. This served to the fact that soon the young soldier received the award - Iron Cross II class. Also, this wound helped him to move further along the career ladder. Mish got into the troops, the soldiers of which were a detachment of personal bodyguards of the top of the Third Reich and were released from service on the front line.

The first meeting with the Fuhrer

About this meeting it became known from the words of Rochus himself. He said that this meeting occurred under strange circumstances, since the young soldier had only worked for two weeks in a new position before he got into Hitler's field of vision.

And everything happened like this: Rokhus called Bruckner, who was the Adjutant of the Führer, and began to question everything about his family tree. When the conversation was over, Brückner headed for the exit, and Rochus Mish, as it should be soldier, saluted, opened the door. Behind the door was Hitler. The meeting impressed the young man very much and for the rest of his life remained in his memory as an exciting event.

Later, Rochus recounted that six bodyguards were always surrounded by Hitler's business trips or meetings. The work of two of this six was in the answers to phone calls.

How did Rohus get into the bunker

At the very beginning of the career of Hitler's personal bodyguard, Rochus traveled a lot with the protected object. He often had to carry out small orders of the Fuhrer: to be both an attendant and a courier.

After the Ardennes operation, on January 16, 1945, when the German forces were defeated and defeated, the whole staff of the head of the Third Reich was transferred to a bunker. Among those who got there was a young officer Mish.

Until the end of the war, none of the personal protection of Hitler bunker no longer left.

Work in the bunker

About what happened in the bunker, it is known only from the words of Rochus. He told me that through his hands passed a huge number of telegrams and dispatches, he was witnessing various important conversations. But this person claims that he simply did his job without going into the essence of what was happening. Therefore, the last witness, Rochus Mish, gives almost no information about how the last days of Hitler passed.

Rohlus argues that he did not pay attention to what was in the telegrams, did not remember what important phone calls were about. He did not ask anything, he just worked. Moreover, this man speaks of Hitler as a polite superior. Moreover, he does not even consider him guilty, just refers to Hitler as an ordinary boss.

End of the war: Hitler's death

It is known that Hitler and his wife, Eva Braun, committed the act of suicide on April 30, 1945. It was Mish who was the one who found the bodies of the dead.

This death was followed by the following suicide - it was Goebbels. The last bodyguard of Hitler, Rochus Mish, witnessed this death.

This man went down in history as one of the last survivors of the bunker survivors.

Only on May 2 the bodyguard tried to escape from the bunker. The escape occurred a few hours before the arrival of Soviet soldiers. However, he was not hiding for long and was soon taken prisoner.

Captive Rochus was sent directly to Lubyanka. There, a man was tortured, trying to obtain important information about Hitler. In the end, he was sent to one of the Soviet concentration camps for a period of 9 years.

Life after the concentration camp

Having come to freedom in 9 years, Рохус has returned again to Berlin. The soldier's house was only 3 kilometers from the ill-fated bunker, where he continued his life.

After the conclusion, it was difficult for Misha to adapt to life. For some time he was an ordinary part-time worker. Since the war, he had his connections, and this helped Rohuis find a better job. He became the owner of the wallpaper-painting business and the owner of the paint store. His business was well established.

Calm, measured life gave rise to the writing of memoirs, thanks to which the author's biography and books became popular. Misha Rohus possessed a writer's talent.

The book of Rojus, which brought popularity

Mish began to reveal the truth about his role in the life of Hitler more recently. Only in 2006 the French journalists published an article based on their conversations with Rojus on the pages of their newspapers. This work was called "I was the bodyguard of Hitler". The article was published in March.

In April of the same year in Germany, a documentary project was titled "The Last Witness - Rochus Mish". Interest in it has not faded until now.

The book "The Last Witness" was published Later in 2008. The book was based on a series of interviews, which the author gave to a journalist from France - Nicolas Bursier. The reporter told me that Rochus had a whole box of shoes, which contained pictures of Hitler, his wife and even dogs. Also the old man saved a lot of letters.

The popularity of Rochus skyrocketed. His phone number was being searched, calls did not cease at any time of the day. He was hunted by journalists and everyone interested in the history of World War II. Such glory was pleasant to the old man, because before his name was one of the last in the lists of military specialized literature. And here is everyone's attention!

The book immediately became popular. It was translated into several languages and published in Bulgaria, Poland, Argentina, Spain, Japan, Ukraine, Turkey.

The book "The Last Witness" (Misha Rohus) is the memoirs of a simple bodyguard, a living witness to the terrible events of World War II, who saw the greatness and collapse of the Third Reich.

Roxus himself as a well-known historical figure is remembered in some films about the Second World War. This tape "Bunker" and "The Last Battle". However, the witness of Hitler's death asserted that the presentation of his image in these films is not too truthful and even distorted.

The author of the book "The Last Witness" passed away on September 5, 2013. There are no more living witnesses to the death of the most cruel dictator of the Third Reich.
