Yuri Kalitvintsev: milestones of a player's career

Yuri Kalitvintsev as a football player left a big mark in the history of Ukrainian football. When Grigory Surkis invited the injured Kalitvintsev to Kiev Dynamo in 1995, many experts and ordinary fans could not imagine how bright he would play in the team that returned to the elite of European football.

Beginning of the player's career

Was born Kalitvintsev Yuri Nikolayevich May 5, 1968 in Volgograd. School years, when usually players comprehend the basics of football skills, Yuri spent in his hometown. ДЮСШ "Rotor" became for it native football cradle. Of course, Yuri managed to visit one of the secondary schools in Volgograd.

On a professional level, he made his debut as a member of the Volgograd Rotor in 1985. At that time the team from Volgograd played in the first league of the USSR championship. Footballers, like all Soviet citizens, were required to serve in the army. Athletes had the opportunity to serve, playing in the formations of army FC. For SKA (Rostov) in the period from 1986 to 1988 Yuri Kalitvintsev held 60 fights, in which he scored 6 goals.

After the Army period of sports career

A successful performance in the army team confirmed the trust of the coaching staff to the young player. For three years, spent in the "Rotor" after returning from SKA, he played 89 fights and scored 20 goals. For a midfielder this is a very high performance, especially if we take into account the development trends of football of the time when the universality of players was developed only in the best teams.

From 1992 to 1994, Yuri Kalitvintsev played in the Moscow "Dynamo". This period of his career left a double impression, because after spending 48 matches in 1992-1993 (scored 4 goals), Kalitvintsev loses his place in the first team and begins the season of 1994 as part of Dynamo-2. At the same time, his personal rewards make him doubt the correctness of the decision of the coaches, because in 1992, Yuri Nikolayevich became the No. 2 football player in Russia, and in 1994, playing in the double of Dynamo and Nizhny Novgorod's Lokomotiv, he got the 3rd place in the list The best football players of the country.

Kalitvintsev and Kiev: fate was the best way

During the match "Locomotive" (Nizhny Novgorod) - "Spartacus" (Vladikavkaz) in late 1994, Yuri Kalitvintsev broke his leg. After this injury, by and large, in Russia no one expected him. Yes, there was an offer from the Moscow "Torpedo", but in fact it was already not that "Torpedo", that in the Soviet years. That is why Yuri Kalitvintsev accepted the proposal of Dynamo Kyiv.

As commentators commented the 1995 Champions League match Dynamo - Panathinaikos, the most important factor in the transition of Russians to Dynamo was the help of the Surkis brothers in rehabilitation after the fracture. For the team in Kiev in 1994-1998, the footballer had a total of 105 fights (including 12 matches for duplicating teams). In these matches he scored 22 goals at the opponents' gate. In the seasons 1996/1997 and 1997/1998 Yuri Kalitvintsev was the captain of the basic structure of the people of Kiev. In the status of captain, he led the team to the legendary Kiev duel against the "Barcelona", held on October 22, 1997 (victory, "Dynamo" 3-0).

The consequences of the trauma were felt, so Yuri could not play for a long time at a high level. In 1999, the midfielder moves to "Trabzonspor" and holds 14 matches in the club (1 goal). Kiev "CSKA" became the last club in which Yuriy Kalitvintsev appeared as a player. Footballer played for the army of Kiev 10 bouts in 2000.

The son follows in the footsteps of his father

Today's Odessa "Chernomorets" can not be imagined without rented from the Kiev "Dynamo" Vladislav Kalitvintsev. The father put a lot of effort into the sport development of his son. Excellent technique, scoring chances, playmaker skills, ability to perform long and free punches - all this was transferred to Vladislav from his father.

Yuri Kalitvintsev in his time was an example of the fortitude for his younger colleagues in the "Dynamo". Without him, the successes of the Kiev club in two seasons of the Champions League in a row (1998 and 1999) would not have been possible. We hope that Vladislav will not only repeat his father's successes in his career, but will achieve more.
