Putty on wood. Why is it needed?
Putty on wood is used to fix various irregularities on wooden surfaces in the interior areas of the room. This material has found wide application. Putty poorly transmits moisture, which provides effective protection of the surface, and this will allow it to operate significantly longer. If some place is closed in this way, it can be easily painted or varnished. It allows you to get rid of small cracks, knots, as well as other defective elements. After the putty on the wood dries, it gets the same color as the wood itself. It is used for furniture, ceilings, wooden doors, walls, floors and other surfaces.
The putty on wood can be bought in any building shop. Since it is used widely enough, its acquisition should not cause problems.
Putty should be fastened to the primed surface, be of high quality, after all, after drying it will need to grind it. If the quality of the material is low, it will crack and crumble, which is highly undesirable. In addition, the material should be well applied by spraying or using a spatula, have a uniform composition, without any mechanical impurities.
Depending on what method of applying the putty is expected, its consistency can be liquid or pasty. The second type is used for continuous coating of the entire surface. Priming of the surface before applying the putty is mandatory. The work is carried out exclusively with a clean spatula, the only way to get a thin even layer. After that, you should thoroughly wash the entire tool, as the spatulas come into disrepair due to the dried putty.
When the surface dries, it will need to be ground.
