Name - what is it? Meaning of the word

Human speech is a wonderful phenomenon, not only in itself, but also because we use words, most of which have existed for thousands of years. To think, we communicate almost as our ancestors did dozens of knees back! And even those words and expressions that the modern speaker of the language seem mysterious and incomprehensible, with close examination, are still "familiar strangers." One of them will be discussed in this article.

One of the names of people

Reading old books, you could often come upon a strange word: name. "What is it?" They asked in perplexity. Is it a foreign word, or an abracadabra meaningless? Do not rush to pass judgment. This is a very old word that came to us from the Church Slavonic language. It was formed by the fusion of two roots - the name and the rivers (rivers). It turned out a name. What does it mean? The first part of it - "name" - refers to the proper name of a person. "River" is the old form of the word "speech," speaking, pronouncing this name. Originally used in the spiritual and prayer texts as an indication that in its place should stand: Basil, Anna, Eugenia, etc. That is, a personal name is a name. What is it, well known not only priests, but also clerks. The expression was often used in official papers until the beginning of the twentieth century. It indicated that at this place it is necessary to put personal data (name, first name, patronymic) of the person in the document in question. There is also a synonym for the name imyarek. What this, can explain another term - "exemplar". It denotes a specific name or concept, given as an example for the name of a place or person.

Sacrament of Prayer

Let us now analyze concrete examples. What is the name in prayer? Suppose it is addressed to a saint (saint). If the text is read in the usual prayer book (prayer book), without specifying a specific person, then instead of this expression you should name the one to whom you are addressing. For example, to St. Nicholas, John Chrysostom and others: "Concerning Nicholas, Lord Godfather, intercede for us sinners!" This is what the name means in prayers. Or, if you ask for someone, then call it. And then "imyarek" is synonymous with the expression "servant of God": "Lord God, do not forsake your mercy, support and help the slave of God Irina recover from her ill health! Amen".

The Sacrament of Conspiracy

Prayer, like the conspiracy, has the strongest energy, thanks to which their magical effect on the destiny of man is realized. Connection to the age-old egregors occurs through the mystery of the Word, special language "formulas", invisible threads connecting a person and mysterious forces (nature or higher), who are called to help. What is imyarek in conspiracies? Same as in prayers. On the spot of this expression, one should name the name of the one to whom the plot is being made. For example, here is such a useful plot, protecting a person from any deception, theft, loss of money. It is necessary to put a money (a bill or a coin) into a handkerchief and say: "I bow to the Lord, I pray to Michael Archangel! From all sorts of people I will deny the dashing, from the wicked heart and thoughts, so that they do not fool their heads, they do not make money to keep money, the fog on God's slave (name - Natalia) is not directed, so that they avoid it! May it be so! Amen". The conspiratorial warehouse (handkerchief with money) is carried with you. As the connoisseurs (witch doctors) say, this ritual can really protect a person from the corresponding negative events.

Another use of the word

In modern Russian the expression "imyarek" in everyday communication is quite rare. In dictionaries it is given with a note "outdated, book". Usually it is used in an ironic context to replace a specific someone's name. For example: "Ilya Ivanovich was a nervous, unbalanced and even somewhat violent man. Knowing that the neighbors, mostly consisting of old ladies, are afraid of him fairly, this name used this weakness, from time to time intercepting a penny "before payday". But, as you know, non-working paychecks do not happen, so the gray dandelions of God did not expect the return of the borrowed money. " By the way, this word was used as a pseudonym by IS Turgenev. That's how it turns out!
