For four months David Wilkerson walked the streets and preached to adolescents, drug addicts, juvenile criminals and bandit groups. He holds mass meetings for criminals in Brooklyn. In 1960 Wilkerson created the ministry "Evangelism for teenagers". I assembled a team. They conducted lectures in schools on alcohol, drug addiction and offered to help the great love of God. The awakening began. Rehabilitation centers for adolescents began to open.

The program of liberation from dependence was based on the Bible. Even the National Government Institute recognized this program as effective, and in many cities in America, rehabilitation centers began to open one by one. In Texas, the organization Wolrd Challenge was created, which became the center uniting organizations working with adolescents. Her president was David Wilkerson.

Wilkerson is the author of 30 books. The church was founded in 1987, and since that time Wilkerson has served the Lord faithfully, traveled the world a lot, participated in Christian conferences.

Biography

Wilkerson was born on May 19, 1931 in the city of Hammond (Ind.). Father, grandfather and Great-grandfather of David were clergymen. At the age of 8, David received the baptism of the Spirit (Pentecostal teaching). From the age of 14 Wilkerson read sermons. In the college of the Assembly of God received a theological education. In 1952 he became a pastor. He married in 1953. They have Gwen with four children and 11 grandchildren. All children serve in the Church.
