How does the milling machine work on wood and what is it used for?
In ancient times, woodcarving was performed only by hand. And all the patterns, even the smallest, were carved on the surface by the master's own hands. Naturally, it took a lot of time and effort. And now, in the era of technical development, with the advent of various woodworking workbenches, another one has been developed - a milling machine for wood. It is this tool that allows you to make a pattern on the surface of furniture for as short a time as possible. It is used mainly in private companies in the mass production of cabinet furniture.
Application
As we have already noted, the main function of this device is to apply various patterns and drawings to the surface of the tree. Thus, this machine finds its main application in the production of shaped wood components. But in addition, this tool is used in the processing of profiles (with planar milling) to form on their surface volumetric relief patterns. Individual models can be supplied with special vacuum cleaners to effectively remove wood chips and dust.
Design
It is worth noting that a milling machine for wood, no matter how expensive it is, can not 100 per cent secure the operator (the person working behind the machine) from injuries. However, to reduce these statistics allowed the use of special instruments with numerical control - numerical program control. They differ in that they do not require constant monitoring of the person behind the process of processing the material. In fact, all the work here is done by a robot, and therefore the risk of injury is reduced almost to nothing.
In addition, a significant advantage of this milling machine is the high speed of material processing, the quality and accuracy of the work. Thus, a milling machine on a tree with numerical control allows you to perform the most complex patterns without involving the operator. By the way, it's very easy to work with such a device. In order to be able to handle this tool, it is enough to have a basic knowledge of milling and to know which buttons in what order to be pressed. To do this, you just need to read the instructions to one or another model of the machine.
Stages of work
The household milling machine for wood (as well as industrial) performs work on patterning in 1-2 roughing passes. At the first stage, a cylindrical end mill is used, which removes most of the layer of the tree. Then the spherical or cone cutter cleans the surface of the processed material from the chip and dust layer, after which the product will be ready for use.
