Stunning photos of an ancient Vietnamese city, whose inhabitants are stuck in time

Tourists, who always dreamed to make a trip in a time machine at least once, should look into Hoi An. This Vietnamese town is stuck in time. There are no high-rise buildings, no public transport. Wanderers are waited only by silent small streets, picturesque old port and hospitality of local residents.

Hoian is a city stuck in time

French photographer Ryan went on a journey with the firm intention to capture the vanishing heritage of Vietnam. This work took 8 years, and its result was the museum opened in Hoi An, a published book and, of course, thousands of colorful photos.

The ancient city of Hoi An is a commercial port, founded in the XV century.

Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The port is located along the coast of the central part of Vietnam, right at the mouth of the Thu-Bon river.

Its ancient bright yellow buildings are perfectly preserved.

The architecture of the city indicates a mixture of different cultures.

A good look at the houses, you can see the intertwining of Chinese, Japanese and European traditions.

The buildings are built close to each other.

And between them lie narrow streets and cozy avenues.

The yard facades of the building are facing the river - on the boat you can swim directly to your own house.

The favorite means of transportation is a bicycle. And this transport is used by both local and tourists.

A few tips for tourists from the famous photographer

Rean himself, thanks to which the secrets of the lost town became public, calls Hoi An "a paradise for the photographer".

Perhaps this place is so photogenic because of bright, but soft colors.

Or the atmosphere is created by friendly residents of the city.

The photographer advises travelers to start the day at 5:30 in the morning. It was at this time that the locals woke up, went out into the street, cleaned the territory. Morning walk will give an opportunity to make truly original shots.

And the sunsets here are just as beautiful.

In any case, the trip to Hoi An will be remembered for life.

Vietnam is a country of contrasts, it is worth visiting at least once in your life.
