Mercantilism is the nonsense or psychological norm of our time

Mercantile - it's pettiness, prudence, economy, which grows into a kind of bargaining. Mercantile, we call that person who is preoccupied with material gain, in general, a self-interested person.

The modern world at every step provides services to us and immediately voices their value, people already do not commit unselfish deeds, they are trying to get any benefit for themselves.

Mercantility - a quality that was previously inherent in women more often than men. Today, almost any person can be described as such, and this is no longer condemned as before. This quality begins to be grafted already "from the cradle", as they say. That is, parents are very much afraid that the child "swindles" in the future or he does not take advantage of all the opportunities provided. In general, this behavior of adults is dictated by harsh reality, and therefore to some extent it is fully understandable.

In order to fully understand, consider the essence of the concept of "mercantile". The meaning of the word is interpreted as "mercenary" and "huckster". The concept came to us from French and Italian. But one interpretation of "greed" mercantilism in the Russian language is not limited. To it is added a few more qualities, for example, prudence and economy. It should be noted that at the initial stage of their development these qualities are positive and favorably affecting the development of the individual. But their hypertrophied form no longer has anything good.

In general, a mercantile person is one that seeks to capitalize on the situation. As you understand, the benefits can be not only material. Moreover, the embryos of such a person's behavior appear in childhood, so much depends not only on the family, but also on the environment.

Analyzing the present and the past of our country, let us recall the fact that earlier our grandparents and parents worked even for an idea, they could not receive money and engage in public work for free. Nobody says that we should give up cozy places with a good salary and join the ranks of idealists. But sometimes it just becomes scary of how much the value system in our world has changed. Mercantilism is also the fruit of society. If earlier we could say that a woman who is looking for a profitable bridegroom is mercenary and calculating, now the search for more favorable working conditions is also a sign of mercantilism.

Let's take, for example, a modern woman. She wants to marry successfully, so that her husband earns well, has a spacious living space or, more simply, was completely "packaged." As for the modern man, he seeks to find a companion of life, which will also be non-poor, moderately clever. In addition, she must be a good mistress and the beautiful mother of his children. Proceeding from the foregoing, we see that both are mercantile, that is, everyone is looking for some benefit for themselves.

And what about the story of Cinderella? Did the beautiful feelings go to the second or even the third plan?

As it turned out, mercantilism can be inherent in every person who has created the conditions for this type of thinking. Well, he has seen enough (or she) films about the rich and beautiful life, but after all in the finale of such films, as a rule, show what she, this life, can end. But everyone chooses himself, and it is necessary to pay off alone.

Of course, mercantilism is a negative quality that deprives us of humanity and nobility. But we choose, and no one pushes us to anything. After all, you want the best for children, and you should not deprive yourself ... That's only where that cherished side that separates mercantile robots from us, people, we do not always know and do not always know how to adhere to it. So think for yourself, decide for yourself!
