Making the Waterproofing of the Floor with Your Hands

Waterproofing the floor is used to prevent moisture from entering from outside. Waterproofing is simply necessary if the cottage, house, cottage, sauna are in unfavorable climatic conditions. In the absence of waterproofing over time, there is a destruction of the wooden and concrete floor.

Waterproofing of the floor with plaster

The process is very simple, you can make it yourself with your own hands, because of this simplicity, it is very popular. The waterproofing is carried out in several layers, a cement slurry is used in combination with polymer additives.

To perform waterproofing of concrete or wooden floor with plaster, when diluting cement mortar, plaster is added from the calculation of 1: 2. The floor base is cleaned of dirt and dust. Then it is necessary to dry it. On the dry floor is applied the first layer of plaster. Next, within 15 minutes, the plaster must dry. Further with breaks, 3-4 layers are applied. During the day, it is necessary to impregnate the floor covering with water. Do not allow any mechanical stress on the plaster coating.

Oak floor waterproofing

When the waterproofing is applied, the coating is covered with a special insulating carpet made of sheet and roll materials. Waterproofing coatings can be: bitumen-polymer, bitumen-roll, polymeric materials. This type of waterproofing is perfect for concrete and wooden floors.
The sticker of roll polymer materials is made with bitumen mastic. Bituminous mastic is smeared onto the surface, after which rolling and stitching of the roll pasting waterproofing material is carried out .

It is necessary to apply mastic and paste layers of bitumen-polymer material several times. After the end of the process, the edges of the rolls are processed with an insulating filler with the addition of a polymer mixture.

Paint waterproofing

Using a polymer or bitumen varnish, it is easy to make floor waterproofing yourself. This method is effective, but the lifetime of such a coating is very limited and is about 5 years. Before applying the varnish, it is necessary to dry well and clean the surface. With the help of putty all the cavities are sealed, and the protrusions are removed. It is necessary to level the surface and the level of the floor. Next, apply bitumen mastic in two or three layers. After drying, the surface is painted with a polymer or bitumen lacquer.

Cast waterproofing floors

For concrete-monolithic floors cast cast waterproofing is used. With this insulation, mastic and mortars are used. In this case, cold mastic is used.

The use of such a mastic is convenient enough, additional costs are eliminated, which can not be said for hot mastic, which requires warming up.
Before applying a waterproofing, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the monolithic concrete floor, remove oil deposits, remove debris, smooth out unevenness, apply plaster in the necessary places. The surface is carefully dried and a primer is applied. Next, a fence of the required height (30-40 cm) along the entire perimeter is mounted. When the fence is ready, the floor is poured with a waterproofing mass.

The final stage is careful leveling of the filled mass with scrapers. The process of drying the floor can take from 5 to 10 days, it is necessary to exclude all sorts of mechanical effects on the floor.
