The lyceum № 1580 belongs to the state budget educational institutions of Moscow. Earlier it was a comprehensive school with a physico-mathematical bias No. 1180 under the auspices of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Now Lyceum No. 1580 is fully included in the base of this university and a specialized educational and scientific center, where students study in depth computer science, mathematics and physics from the eighth to the eleventh grade.

History of the Lyceum

School number 1180, which was in every way guarded and supervised by the university since 1989, in the first year of its existence was forced to conduct classes only on the second shift, as the room she shared with school No. 537. Teachers were already almost completely university students. In 2000, the school became a lyceum and received a number under which it is listed now.

Nine years later school number 537 joined the Lyceum, which already had two buildings on Balaklava Avenue - houses 6 and 6a. In 2015, lyceum No. 1580 was expanded. The address along Stasova Street, 8, became the seat of the third building of this educational institution due to the fact that the general school No. 639 joined it.

Until 2011, lyceum No. 1580 taught only schoolchildren of the tenth and eleventh grades, with the priority being set in tenths. The structure of the educational process has become absolutely university.

Educational process

Since the 2006 school year, GBOU Lyceum No. 1580 has four parallels: the eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh grades, each with about thirty pupils, sometimes slightly more, but in general in the lycee there are always about six hundred students. The recruitment is not carried out only in the ninth grade, the rest is required. They study here for free, but a lot: six very stressful days a week, lessons only in the first shift, at nine o'clock in the morning.

The academic hour (forty-five minutes) lasts every lesson. From the tenth grade, the organization of educational activities changes the schedule: a university system appears - semester training, which includes seminars, lectures, tests, laboratory work, exams and special courses. The progress is recorded in the credit books. The system of training high school students, which was taken to the arena of lyceum No. 1580, parents' responses are noted as remarkable.

The best school in Moscow

Now the lyceum employs teachers with the highest qualifications, more than a hundred, including five doctors and thirty candidates of science, two honored teachers of the Russian Federation. Every year over two hundred and fifty lyceum graduates receive a matriculation certificate along with a lyceum badge. And all are 100% enrolled in higher education institutions, more than ninety percent - in the native MSTU named after Bauman. The lyceum has provided for students of the eighth and tenth classes not only an in-depth study of mathematics and physics, but also examinations in these subjects, because otherwise the guys can not withstand the increased demands for admission to the Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman. But, no matter how difficult it is, all the students pass school examinations 100% and successfully pass, as, indeed, and entrance to the university.

There, the lyceum students get acquainted with the faculties and departments, getting to know the student life and the level of knowledge that they need to strive for. Physics at the Lyceum

At its core the software content coincides with the basic course of physics that takes place in the school, but the additions to many sections, principally for future university students, are very significant. In the course of work in the laboratories, lyceum students get acquainted with many things that will not be known to pupils of other schools until the beginning of studies at the university. For example, the organization of a physical workshop, where the work carried out is closely related to the most important provisions of the theory. Frontal laboratory work is not carried out here because it limits the students' independence and creative approach to one or another experience.

Laboratory work is built strictly on an individual schedule. Even the organization of practical classes copies the scheme adopted in universities: each student before work must obtain admission to it, demonstrate a close acquaintance with the theory, the main provisions of which he is going to confirm here, the knowledge of the device installation, through which work will be done. Then the future student does the work himself, calculating all the necessary series of necessary measurements, himself carries out the processing of the results, taking into account the errors, and protects these results in a subsequent conversation with the teacher.

Mathematics in the Lyceum

In the system of teaching lyceum students a mathematical program to study the course laid to general education schools adds the foundations of classical higher mathematics. Soon it will help students to study the set theory and the mathematical analysis of infinitesimal quantities, and the basis of integral and differential calculus, that is, everything without which there is no base of engineering sciences.

Lice students also get acquainted with mathematical objects and concepts that are not included in the programs of ordinary schools in the same way. Mathematical programs are implemented using university teaching methods, otherwise success is impossible. Lyceists are primarily offered a lecture-seminar system. And for a whole semester, students receive individual assignments to check their knowledge and skills, listening to lectures and participating in seminars. The entire mathematics program lasted for 640 hours, of which 160 lectures and 480 seminars.

Informatics in the Lyceum

The mandatory minimum, which is devoted to the study of information technology in ordinary schools, is clearly insufficient to continue education at the Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman. Therefore, the number of hours of training load is increased, and all the load in computer classes is divided into two parts: programming and user courses, that is computer literacy.

Lyceum students are programmed in the Pascal language, and C ++ and Delphi are added to the in-depth study of computer science. The user's course involves studying graphic and text editors and spreadsheets. Also studied are global computer networks, the basics of the Internet, its services and basic principles of browsers, e-mail and the mail program Microsoft Outlook.

Informatics + mathematics

Physico-mathematical lyceum No. 1580 does not put user skills at the center - too small is a task for such a promising educational institution, and it is solved quickly. Here, students are introduced to how information technology is used to solve scientific and technical problems. Also, lyceum students study the methods of mathematics that are used in computer science. Here are numerical methods for solving equations, and analytical geometry, and sorting in arrays, and search problems in game programs, and graphics in modeling problems, and dynamic memory in large-dimensional problems.

The admission committee works in the Lyceum year-round: it answers all the questions of the parents, in addition to mandatory days of open doors. The Russian language, despite the form of the test and the "pass-fail" rating, is more often a stumbling block for those wishing to enter the lyceum.
