Despite the fact that this educational institution has been operating for more than twenty years and has a powerful educational and material base, in addition, it annually trains more than twenty thousand people, not many entrants have enough information about it. How it all began?

In the winter of 1993, a sensational note appeared in the mass media of Bashkortostan about the creation of a principally new higher educational institution - the Oriental Institute of Economics, Humanities, Management and Law (VEHU). After this message, a flurry of calls and phone calls was literally struck on the admission committee and the administration, with a request to give detailed information about this university, the conditions of admission, about what the methodology of innovative education and the organization of the educational process consist in.

As the rector of this university EK Minabayev recalled, the institute appeared in a very difficult and "hungry" time for higher education, someone was waiting for the manna of heaven (money from the country's frail budget), someone was depressed, constantly complaining about life , Someone threatened with dismissals and strikes, and many in general left pedagogical activity. And at the same time, tens of thousands of school leavers were left behind higher education, as places in the universities and institutes of the country were, and are strictly limited. All this situation gradually matured into an idea, which became a reality (the VEHU Academy was founded in late January 1993).

Heavy period

The old-timers say that in the beginning of March the real excitement began, there were huge queues, there were few employees. Students of that recruitment recall that the interviews were then conducted directly by the rector and vice-rectors. Work was conducted from the very morning until late at night, without days off. So, in just a month, more than three thousand people passed through the admission committee, but only 1,500 students became students. As a result, around the Institute staff began to flare up violent passions, there were tears and indignations, and threats of those who did not pass the interview.

From the reminiscences of the pro-rector

As the first pro-rector of the academy SG Masalimov remembers, few people believed in this university. So, in the spring of 1993, VETU teachers held a practical scientific conference on the topic of alternative education. Almost all of its participants expressed their opinion that this system would prove to be unviable, arguing that it would take at least twenty years to get it established, subject to state support. Nevertheless, this university was supported by many state structures - this is the leadership of the Bashkortostan Institute, and the Law Institute of Internal Affairs, etc.

The second set

Since the first days only three faculties have been opened: economic, pedagogical and legal. To cooperation, 52 associate professors and 14 professors were involved. Then the general institutes began to form, the number of specialists increased significantly. As they say, the process has started.

The first students did not have time to sit at desks, as the second set was announced. Interest in the institution did not weaken, but on the contrary, it grew. And again, huge queues lined up at the admission committee, and even a preliminary record was made. In the summer of 1993, more than five thousand entrants made an attempt to enter this university, but only three thousand were accepted.

Rapid development

The VEHU Academy is interesting for its unusually fast pace of formation and development. After the first year of work, it became clear that this is not a spontaneously formed organization, but a serious institution that sets real and noble goals, developing according to a clearly planned scheme with strictly fixed terms. Within only one year, their publishing house "Eastern University" was opened (printer equipment was purchased); Computer classes; Own library; Representative offices in other cities (Belebey, Birsk, Almetyevsk, Tuymazy, Ekaterinburg, Samara, Sterlitamak); Humanitarian College. In addition, the main directions of scientific and research work were outlined, administrative and educational-methodical departments and departments were formed. Of course, there were opponents and supporters. Thanks to both, this educational institution continues to develop. In many respects this is due to the fact that the VEU Academy is run by a very uneasy personality - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Evgeny Kadirovich Minnibayev. The Academy status

The formation of this university began with a single room of 10 square meters, and today the WEGU Academy is an association spread throughout the country: from Moscow and Sochi to Tomsk and Novokuznetsk. Today's students of this university study in spacious and bright classrooms, in modern computer classes, use a multimedia unique scientific library. In 2007, the university received state accreditation. According to its results, the Accreditation Board of the Federal Service issued a decision according to which the WEGU received the status of an academy. Today it has a very high rating among Russian universities. More than 60 percent of the teaching staff have academic degrees of doctors and candidates of science. Scientific and research activity of students and teachers is organized by the departments and research institute of this university. The VEHU Academy provides training for thousands of graduate students and students, more than 40,000 graduates work in commercial and state structures.

The leadership of the academy set the course for the development of the educational process in accordance with the development of modern digital technologies, thereby seriously outstripping all the universities of our country. For example, in VEGU, all the methodological literature is translated into an electronic form. This facilitates access to information for any student. The problem was not only that print publications were not enough for everyone (according to the norms for two students there is one textbook), the system error is that most of the information in them has become obsolete. This is explained by the fact that the path of these data from their appearance and until delivery to students is usually 5-8 years. And this in the modern world is too long. After all, we live in a turbulent development of the science and technology of the century. In the academic world, theories arise and go into oblivion with the speed of falling stars in the sky. As a result, while a textbook is being created, information in it becomes mostly unnecessary. How can you teach a student using knowledge that is no longer useful to him? Therefore, the management of the Academy is busy with the fact that it conducts search, processes and introduces into the educational process all useful up-to-date information, such as scientific discoveries, developments of scientists, theories, articles of leading specialists, etc. All this knowledge is translated into electronic form And immediately included in the educational process.

Today the fund of the digital library of the VEHU Academy is more than 15 thousand different publications. Among them there are also unique ones: training systems, interactive educational methodical complexes, overview lectures and so on.
