Scientific work: description and approximate structure

In the process of writing a scientific work, the author is often asked questions about its structure, parts, details, etc.

What is scientific work and why is it needed? First, it is necessary to determine exactly what is meant by this term. In this case, we do not mean abstracts, reports and various transcriptions of other sources. The main point of scientific work lies in the fact that its author reveals some new aspect in the problem already studied, or introduces a completely new idea. This is the author's own discovery, for which you can use general or special literature, practical experience, but the essence of the work should be unique. The volume and complexity of writing it can vary depending on the purpose of the project and the age of the author.

Scientific work in the secondary school

Students start their own scientific work with grades 8-10. An earlier start is inappropriate, since the teenager simply does not understand what he should do. In the 11th grade, it is already too late to start scientific work, since the student does not have time to master and finish the work. The most basic thing at this age is to try to get away from the student style. It is important to understand that scientific work is not an ordinary work, but an extensive work that requires a competent language, a special approach and a written result of 30-40 pages. What is it for schoolchildren? Most of them in the upper grades already find their future path and the science that is most suitable, and for such students it is very important to understand how to write a scientific work correctly and correctly, since such skills will necessarily be required at the next stages of education. Deep study of the interested teenager area becomes the source of the emergence of their own thoughts and ideas that need to be formulated. Therefore, if the author does not have an interest in the topic of the work, then this is an unnecessary work for anyone. In addition, participation in scientific research with its idea gives the student a chance to take a prize and receive various preferences for further education in the university. For research at this level, university lecturers may be invited as supervisors.

Scientific works for university students are customary diplomas, term papers, called special assignments. Special assignments are given for preparation for examinations in a certain discipline. These are small works on 15-20 pages, works of abstract nature or own research, practiced not in all universities. Term papers for the selected topic for the student in a particular discipline, the volume of 20-30 pages. Diploma work is a scientific work containing its own large volume research with a descriptive part of 60-80 pages and more. Such work is an indicative result of everything that the student achieved during his studies at the institute. This is something with which the graduate will go to professional work in the specialty or in science. Master's and doctoral dissertations are works of a higher level, usually people who start these projects have great experience in writing scientific works and are well-versed in this process.

When writing scientific work, all the details are important. It is necessary to determine in advance what the structure of the scientific work will be, since the proper structuring of the project into chapters and paragraphs will help to write the work. The author has the right to independently choose a suitable method for the presentation of scientific material: holistic, selective, strictly consistent, based on experience, habits and availability of materials. When writing a work, you must pay special attention to the style of presentation and language.
