Uralsk Airport: features, infrastructure, classification, reconstruction

In the West Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan at an altitude of 38 meters above sea level is the international airport of Uralsk. It is located in close proximity (16 km) from the city in the Terektinsky district. For several decades in a row, it represents the westernmost airshow of the Kazakh Republic. Features of the runway of the airport of Uralsk

The airport (repair, or rather, reconstruction of the runways, was started as early as 2014) still does not meet the requirements of international commissions, which is a significant obstacle to the adoption of international air liners. Unfortunately, it is not possible to get the desired results, despite the efforts of the airport management to reconstruct and update the runway cover.

So, in October 2015 another attempt was made to speed up the restoration work, for which all day flights were canceled, and the airport worked only in the morning and evening hours. Urgent measures to eliminate malfunctions on the runway (artificial runway) were undertaken by both the general contractor of works and the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the daytime work was carried out on pouring seams of runways, arrangement of bands with light-signal equipment and other elements with which the airport of Uralsk was equipped were repaired.

Nevertheless, after 2 months acceptance of the WFP commission of the Civil Aviation Committee did not take place. The reason for this was the discovery of significant defects. Specialists, members of the commission, found unsatisfactory the work of the radar installation, the equipment of which was handled by RSE "Kazaeronavigation".

Reconstruction results

In general, after the reconstruction, the airport of Uralsk still underwent a change. The dimensions of the runway increased by 400 meters in length and 3 meters in width. This year the repair of the parking lot and the taxiway will be completed, the construction of the transformer substation and the emergency station is completed. This, by the way, is one of the most important junctions of the airport in Uralsk, since several times its runway was forced to accept airliners of international communication, which made an emergency landing here. Repeatedly landed on the airfield of Uralsk and other aircraft, saving lives for thousands of citizens of the republic and guests of the country. Considering such active use of the airport as a forced stopping point along the route of long-distance routes, management takes all necessary measures to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers arriving in Uralsk.
