The relevance of the research topic is the most important step on the way to the successful defense of scientific work

Work on scientific research begins with the search for a topic and the definition of problems. The wording of the name influences in the future the choice of reviewers, opponents, consultants, specialists in writing the work. This process can be long, because it depends on how the research topic is formulated, the whole further course of work depends.

The choice of topic is important:

- interest and competence of the author himself;

- Relevance of the research topic;

- originality and novelty of the directions of the chosen subject.

In any kind of scientific work, it is necessary to justify the relevance of the research topic. Familiarization with this item immediately gives a clear idea of the importance and significance of a specific scientific intelligence in the modern world: in the theoretical or practical aspect of any sphere.

Justify the relevance of the study in the introduction, which is an important part of the thesis, master's, thesis work. It contains all the basic qualifications.

At the very beginning of the introduction, it should be briefly but meaningfully explained why this topic was chosen, which served as its additional study.

In general, the course of scientific research can be broken down into such mandatory actions:

1) Justify the relevance of the research topic.

2) Set goals and objectives.

3) Identify the object and the object.

4) Select the methods for conducting the study.

5) Describe the process.

6) Discuss the results.

7) Draw conclusions and assessments of the results.

In the degree and dissertational works the choice of the object of study is of great importance. The author's ability to correctly choose a topic, correctly formulate it, evaluate it from the standpoint of current trends and social significance indicates his scientific maturity and professional training.

Otherwise, explaining the essence of significance, one can formulate such a question: "In what sphere of production or knowledge, for what and who will need the proposed results? Why should we discuss this? "Answering these questions, one can formulate the urgency.

The problem arises when the existing knowledge and results are already outdated, and the new ones are not settled yet. Thus, in theory or practice there appears a contradictory problematic situation that needs to be analyzed, and ideally - to suggest ways to solve it, based on reliable data from a variety of studies. The emergence of such a situation is due to the discovery of facts unknown up to a certain point that do not fit into any existing theory.

Requirements for the description of relevance

- Describing the relevance of the research topic, you need to avoid verbosity and ambiguity. It is sufficient in several sentences to state the essence of the main task that will be investigated.

- Formulating the scientific problem, it is important to differentiate the main from the secondary.

- It is necessary to avoid interesting and acute topics, which at the same time have a transient character (this concerns the sphere of political, economic, legal discourse). What is popular and on everyone's lips today, tomorrow may lose its relevance. This will entail many unpleasant troubles in the scientific process. And first of all it will affect the degree of relevance.
