LIT 1533: feedback from applicants

The first in Russia specialized educational institution for high school students with a comprehensive general education program was the Information Technology Lit. (LIT 1533). The comments of the first students tell us that even before the establishment, strong ties with the best Moscow universities and the RAS were established. How did this happen? History

And the UOC-VT appeared in 1972 thanks to the initiative and efforts of INEUM employees in Moscow (Institute for Electronic Controlled Machines). It was then that the first personal computers began to appear, which enabled them to implement teaching methods aimed at the future at the training center, and even to hold the first Olympiads for programmers. Almost all graduates continued their education in those universities and in those faculties where ICT was in key positions. And in 1991, as already mentioned, the UOC-VT was transformed into LIT 1533. Teachers' comments indicate a unique experience that has become a stable methodological basis for the development of the educational process in the Lyceum.

The structure of the new educational institution was completely oriented towards pedagogical activity with students who are ready for very intensive work, where information and communication technologies (ICT) are the backbone . The school process covers schoolchildren from the third to the eleventh grade, and all graduates undergo specialized training for three years (from the ninth to the eleventh grades), which ends with the protection of projects. LIT 1533, about which very often contains information for those wishing to study there, annually recruits students, and the competition there is always great.

In 2017, the Lyceum will accept beginners only in the third classes, and there will still be a small selection in the new fifth and sixth. Microsoft Corporation supported the beginnings of the first Russian lyceum of information technologies in every possible way, in particular, so it was possible to participate in the MSDN AA program, that is why the modern tools for programming (including the development of Web projects) are now available to the students. Already in 2005 and 2006, the lyceum staff began collaborating with the publishing house: as a result, a multimedia manual was prepared for the study of Russian school principals under the Partnership in Learning (Microsoft) program. Famous educators and scientists from many regions of the country, as well as graduates of the Lyceum, took part in its creation.

Organization of the Lyceum's structure differs from other educational institutions. The director and four of his deputies belong to the administrative and management staff. Alternates: for academic, educational, economic and security work - as everywhere, but the deputy for informatization is the distinguishing feature of the professional orientation of the educational institution.

The same thing happens with the teaching and support staff: in addition to psychologists, librarians, social educators, educators and accountants, it is necessary to have computer center engineers. They manage the lyceum (in addition to the pedagogical council and the director), the founder of the Lyceum and the general meeting, as well as the academic and governing council. The highest body of self-government is not a director, but a general meeting, where the lyceum students and their parents participate in the most active way.

University system

In rare schools (for example, the name of Bauman), graduates already have a good experience of studying in conditions close to university ones: they are credits, seminars, term papers, graduation projects, that is, the very realities in which the lyceum students will exist in the near future. Especially helps to adapt in university conditions the ability to work with projects on clearly distinguished and well-mastered stages: first an application for the selected topic, then the development of the task, the passage of intermediate protections and so on.

All this helps not only the personal development of self-discipline, but also establishes interaction in groups, teaches teamwork, if the project is joint, makes you communicate with comrades who deal with similar topics, and most importantly - teaches you to appreciate your personal time, and also instills leisure management skills.

Leisure

Every year at the Lyceum, while the studies are going on, teachers create creative groups to switch students on vacation during the holidays. These activities are thought through in all details, and therefore almost always successful and memorized by the students for the rest of their lives.
