Intestinal abscess: causes, diagnosis, symptoms and treatment

Anatomy of the intestine is quite specific. Its length is about 4 meters. And after the termination of the functioning of the body, it increases to 15 m. The anatomy of the intestine is examined for the detection of various anomalies and pathologies. One of them is the displacement of the organ downwards - ptosis. Let's consider in detail why the bowel is boweled. Symptoms and treatment of pathology will also be described in the article.

Causes

An intestinal abnormality , the symptoms and treatment of which are determined only after a comprehensive diagnosis, is due, first of all, to the anomaly of organ development at an early age. An important role in this is played by genetic predisposition. Given that the length of the intestine in an adult is large enough, the organ must be securely attached with a connective tissue. However, due to some individual characteristics of the body, its fixation is rather weak. This may be due to decreased muscle tone. In tall people, the connective tissues holding the organ are rather weak. An abaissement of the intestine can be caused by a low diaphragm position. It is a septum between the peritoneum and the sternum. Often, the anomaly occurs due to lordosis - reducing the bending of the lumbar region. Intestinal abscess in a number of cases is acquired. Such an anomaly can arise in persons engaged in heavy physical work or sports. In such situations, there is an overstrain and overstretch of the musculature. Often, pathology is detected in people who have been overweight and who in a short time have dropped excess kilograms. Shifting the organ down can be caused by external interference. In particular, bowel dysfunction is often diagnosed in people after removal of the transudate, surgical excision of cysts and tumors of large size. Often, pathology occurs in women who have repeatedly given birth, or who have had multiple pregnancies. In some cases, the displacement of the organ is associated with gastroptosis - gastric emptying. In such cases, normal progress and digestion of food is disrupted. The food stagnates, the loops of the intestines grow heavy. As a result, pressure begins on the organ below.

Clinical picture

Intestinal abscess is an anomaly that causes significant discomfort. Pathology manifests itself in the form of dull pain in the abdomen. It can have a pulling or aching character. As a rule, painful sensations are localized in the iliac region to the right, below the abdomen, in the groin and lower back. Often patients talk about unpleasant sensations in the abdominal cavity, arising in the standing position. They usually disappear when taking a horizontal position. For pathology are characterized by particular headaches, attacks of nausea, frequent fatigue. When the intestine is lowered, the accumulation of gases (flatulence) begins, the constipations become chronic. In men urination is additionally more frequent, and in women there is pain in menstruation.

Diagnostics

The intestine of an adult, as, indeed, a child with suspected pathology is examined by complex methods. First and foremost, undoubtedly, the doctor talks with the patient, finds out the nature of pain, localization. The examination involves palpation (probing) of the abdominal cavity. In addition, instrumental methods are also used. They include:

  1. Irrigoscopy.
  2. General survey radiography of the peritoneum. This study is performed first in the horizontal, then in the vertical position of the patient's body.
  3. Ultrasound.
  4. CT.

Many patients are interested in how the irrigoscopy of the intestine is carried out, what is it? This study is performed using a radiopaque substance. The organ is filled in and shines through. It is worth mentioning that among the most informative methods of diagnostics one of the advanced positions is occupied by irrigoscopy of the intestine. That this is known to almost all patients who have problems with the digestive system.

Therapy

Treatment is usually done in a conservative way. In therapy, exercise therapy, massage, a special diet is prescribed. In some cases, the doctor recommends using a bandage. As practice shows, surgical intervention is prescribed in two situations. First of all, the operation is recommended in case all conservative methods are tried and did not bring results, and signs of the disease are amplified. If we talk about the second situation, then we must mention first, what threatens to lower the intestine. This pathology can provoke a violation of the blood supply to the peritoneal organs, complete or partial obstruction. In such complex cases, surgical procedures are performed. Meanwhile, doctors even after a successful operation do not give a guarantee that the problems will completely disappear and there will be no relapse (repetition). Without the participation of the patient himself, his efforts for a lasting positive effect are almost impossible to achieve.

Bandage

Much better is the health of those patients who use special devices. The principle of the bandage is compression. To keep the intestine in its normal position, external pressure is applied to the peritoneal wall, which is created artificially. The bandage should be selected by the doctor individually taking into account the characteristics of the patient's body, the clinical picture. It is worn in the morning in a horizontal position. For this, the patient lies on his back and slightly lifts the pelvic area. To remove a bandage also follows in a position lying in the evening before a dream. It should be remembered that even after wearing the device and sufficiently persistent remission, the intensification of new symptoms is not ruled out.

Exercise therapy

Therapeutic exercises help strengthen the muscles of the peritoneum. Exercises in ptosis are aimed at increasing the tone of the lateral and anterior part of the musculature. In the course of classes, direct and oblique outer, inner, transverse, square lumbar and iliopsoas muscles are involved. Also, when ptosis is necessary to perform exercises that strengthen the diaphragm and striated pelvic floor muscles. At the initial stages during 2-3 weeks gymnastics is performed on the back, on an inclined plane (elevated in the area of the lower extremities).

Exercises

Each movement should be repeated 5-6 times:

  1. Between the navel and the ribs on the stomach should put a book. Hands stretch along the body, legs should be straight. Begins breathing using the diaphragm. At the same time, the book should rise on inspiration, and on exhalation it should go down.
  2. Feet straight, hands along the body. The lower extremities are raised in turn.
  3. Hands also along the trunk, legs straight. Both lower extremities on exhalation rise above the floor, are held in this position for about 5 seconds. The legs are lowered slowly on exhalation.
  4. All the previous actions are repeated, but after raising the limbs, movements "scissors" are made left-to-right, up and down.
  5. Legs bend at the knees, hands along the body. It is necessary to lean on the back of the head, elbows and feet. The pelvis slowly rises and returns to its original position.
  6. Legs are straight, hands along the body. The right lower limb bends at the inspiration in the knee and is pulled by the hands to the trunk, then returns to the initial position. A similar motion is performed with the left foot.
  7. The starting position as in the previous exercise. On exhalation, both legs bend at the knees, pressed against the stomach. Then you need to return to the original position.
  8. Movement "bicycle".

Standing Gymnastics

After 2-3 weeks of exercise in prone position, you can move on to more difficult activities:

  1. Walking in place. You need to raise your hips high. The duration of the exercise is 1 min.
  2. The legs are put together, hands fall down. The upper extremities on inhalation rise. At the same time, the leg is retracted. The toe of the foot touches the floor. On exhalation, the initial position should be taken.
  3. Hands along the body, legs together. On inhalation, the upper limbs are divorced to the sides, while the leg is retracted. The toe of the foot should touch the floor. On exhalation, the initial position should be taken.
  4. The exercise is similar to the previous one, only the leg is taken to the side. Repeat five times.
  5. Stand up to the wall with your back about 35 cm apart. The legs should be placed on the width of the shoulders, arms bend in the elbows. Corner turns are performed with a palm touching the walls with a delay in this position for 10 seconds.

Gymnastics should be done every day, after eating after 2 hours. The duration of the classes is 10-15 minutes. After exercise, it is recommended that you lie for 25 minutes on an inclined plane elevated in the legs.

Prevention

Of course, people can not correct their anthropometric parameters. All preventive measures, in this connection, can be reduced only to the conduct of a healthy lifestyle. It is necessary to eat right, do not overload physically. If we talk about the prevention of acquired ptosis, then we also need to monitor the load, its own weight, do not have to try to lose weight quickly. During pregnancy it is recommended to wear a special bandage.

Forecasts

An abortion of the intestine is quite a serious problem. When untimely referral to a doctor, delaying with treatment, the risk of complications is high. In men, due to constant pressure on the bladder, as well as the prostate can develop incontinence, adenoma, prostatitis. Women suffer from uterus, ovaries. Problems with these organs threaten infertility, inflammation in the pelvic organs. In addition, ptosis is accompanied by problems with digestion. The risk of intestinal obstruction, dangerous to life, is high.
