Interethnic Conflicts

One of the pressing problems of the society for many years are interethnic conflicts. Despite the education and literacy of the majority of people living on the planet today, differences in skin color, the incision of the eyes and so on, still stand between them and interfere with peaceful coexistence. There are a number of factors that contribute to the emergence of interethnic differences. Most often they are born in large cities, where many young people of different nationalities.

The main causes of interethnic conflicts are:

1. Deterioration of the economic situation in the region. As a rule, it is accompanied by disagreements and hostility among various strata of the population.

2. Lack of appropriate state policy aimed at regulating relations among the population.

3. Provocative or rash statements (statements) of politicians, representatives of the clergy, the media.

4. Interethnic strife and war in the past.

5. Religious intolerance.

6. Cultural and historical disputes.

Regardless of the reasons, interethnic conflicts, as a rule, take on more serious forms and can be solved in civilized and uncivilized ways. Among them are:

• Political struggle;
• Ethnic "cleansing";
• mass riots;
• Local wars;
• Religious fundamentalism.

All interethnic conflicts unite some features:

1. Complex, complex character. Such conflicts are possible only if the ethnic group feels discriminated against in terms of socio-economic and spiritual indicators.

2. Deep, historical roots.

3. High mobilization. In the course of conflicts, common values are protected - language, faith, life. This ensures the mass character and interest of each member of the ethnos.

4. Glow of emotions, passions.

5. Chronic character. Obtained rights and freedoms of one generation may seem insufficient to another.

Interethnic conflicts in Russia largely depend on the nature, trends and prospects for the development of the Russian nation. Scientists-sociologists, based on numerous studies, argue that today the Russian nation is in a state of crisis. The reasons for this are the following trends:

1. Depopulation. In the early 90's for the first time the death rate exceeded the birth rate.

2. Spiritual vacuum. Distortion of history, lack of national values and patriotism among young people.

3. The apolitical development of consciousness.

4. Systematic deepening of the chaotic state of the economy.

For modern Russia, this problem is one of the most serious. The Chechen war that has unfolded on its territory is one of the largest political and ethnic conflicts of the twentieth century. Arguments in favor of the current situation and the measures taken by the authorities are the following: the severity of the conflict, the interest of the world community, national and religious performances throughout the North Caucasus region.

The various events taking place in the world in recent times have proved that interethnic conflicts in most cases go beyond regional and even state ones. Modern society has developed a stable opinion that ethnically unstable regions are a refuge for potential subjects of international terrorism. As a result of this - a sharply negative attitude towards the representatives of individual nationalities.

In the current situation, world leaders can not ignore the conflicts taking place on the territories of their states. Numerous ways and methods of dispute settlement are being considered. All of them are divided into three large groups:

1. Peace talks.

2. Application of various legal mechanisms.

3. Information path.

Solving these problems is difficult to find. There are many factors to consider here. Nevertheless, this must be done first of all for the safety of every person and society as a whole.
