How to draw a bottle: draw a pencil in bulk glass vessel

Sometimes some beginning artists ask themselves: how to draw a bottle? This subject can be simply depicted on a still-life, a picture devoted to pirate themes, or as an independent element. So, today we'll pay attention to this glass vessel and try to figure out how to draw a bottle with a pencil, and not just draw it, but make it as similar as possible to the real one, without fail adding volume and streamlining.

Choosing the right bottle

It is known that there are a lot of bottles, namely their varieties. Well, for example, it could be a plastic bottle, either clay, glass or decorative, a small baby bottle intended for a milk mixture, or a huge collection bottle, in which, by the way, some beautiful thing can be hidden: a car, a ship or a tower .

It should be noted that different bottles are drawn by the large measure practically equally. The only differences are the cork, label or shape of the vessel. But today we will talk about a glass bottle, which is intended for wine.

Getting Started

Always before you start drawing, you need to sharpen a pencil, prepare an album sheet and put an eraser nearby, although it may not be useful, because you can paint a bottle like a real artist, even a child, because it's absolutely simple. When everything is prepared, the matter remains for the small.

Let's start the drawing process:

  1. It is desirable to arrange the landscape sheet vertically before work. Still, we will draw a full-size bottle and practically on the whole sheet. Under the ruler or by hand draw a straight line, the length of this line and will symbolize the height of the future glass vessel. The horizontal segments are completed, the resulting straight, and at the top of the line should be small, and at the bottom is more, because this is the future of the bottom of the vessel. And then we divide the visually drawn straight line into three equal parts. The first part is separated by a horizontal dash - this will be the neck of the bottle being drawn, and the remainder is left as is - this will be the so-called "body" of the bottle. The first stage in the question of how to draw a bottle can be considered complete. We move on.
  2. The next step in drawing a glass wine bottle will be giving it so-called bulkiness, in other words, try to represent its side faces. To do this, from the very bottom, on both sides of a straight line drawn in advance, we draw symmetrical parallel up to the horizontal markings, and then, without forgetting symmetry, round the lines and, reducing the width twice, again draw smooth lines almost to the very top. In a place where the cork is usually fastened for the bottle itself, two convex round curves, resembling the halves of the figure 8, should be added.

Finishing work

In order to enjoy the finished masterpiece and draw a bottle as real, there are a few tricks, which will be discussed below:

  1. The first thing to do is round the bottom and top of the vessel. To do this, from the lowest horizontal mark, which was earlier indicated as the bottom of the bottle, we draw a half-oval, convex side to the bottom. Then we go directly to the cork. All the lines that we will draw at the top, on the contrary, should be rounded in the opposite direction relative to the bottom. Such visual visual illusion is used by artists, trying to draw almost all known vessels: vases, bottles, glasses.
  2. The last step in the work will be cleaning the picture from the unnecessary. All lines that were previously drawn inside the vessel should be erased with an eraser.

When everything is ready

Now, when a voluminous image flaunts on a sheet, it remains either to decorate, or to teach others how to draw a bottle, step by step and professionally.
