Heart Attack: Symptoms and First Aid.

Unfortunately, today more and more cases of heart attacks are observed. They say that in order to defeat the enemy, you need to know it in person. Nor will this enemy be an exception, which, alas, does not have a face, but from time to time he ruins people. All doctors unanimously assert that if signs of a heart attack have appeared, then it is necessary to act swiftly, because in such cases, years and even days are not important - every minute is important.

So, let's figure out what a heart attack is, which has a second name - myocardial infarction. In fact, this is the necrosis of the tissue due to the fact that it ceases to receive the blood supply necessary for its vital activity.

Doctors specializing in cardiology highlight some of the symptoms of a heart attack:

  • Fast heartbeat;
  • nausea;
  • dizziness;
  • Increased sweating ;
  • Choking (in some cases it can be expressed as heartburn);
  • Pain in the sternum or in the left hand;
  • Discomfort manifested in the throat, back or jaw area.

Such symptoms are manifested for half an hour and they can not mute any (even potent) drugs.

There can also be a situation where no symptoms appear during a heart attack - this is very dangerous and, as a rule, most often threatens people with diabetes.

If suddenly you feel the same symptoms, then try to contact the doctor as soon as possible, or even better - call an ambulance. Just in this way you can save your life, since it is possible for a maximum of three hours from the moment you felt uncomfortable. A heart attack, the symptoms of which pass unheeded, is the most dangerous and since it is more common in diabetics, they die more often from heart attacks.

If a heart attack occurs, the symptoms of which you began to feel, it is necessary to carry out certain actions.

1. Sit on a chair, and even better on a chair, and, preferably, with armrests. If there is no suitable seat, you can lie on the bed and put something under the headboard. After that, take 0.25 grams of aspirin and 0.5 grams of nitroglycerin (if after taking these pills you begin to have weakness in the body or sweating - do not take them any more, and if you get such a reaction to taking medication, drink water).

2. Relieve your breathing - try to free the neck from the objects that squeeze it (scarf, scarf, collar, etc.).

3. In the event that the heart attack, the symptoms of which you feel, do not recede, urgently call a doctor or emergency. In the meantime, while help arrives, take nitroglycerin every 10 minutes. Even if the pain and discomfort receded, still call at least a family doctor so that he looks at you and draws the appropriate conclusions about your condition.

Remember the very important rule that you must strictly observe if you have had a heart attack. Symptoms that you feel are a sign that you do not need to walk and it is advisable to exclude any movement at all.

It is strictly forbidden to use nitroglycerin for people who have blood pressure below the established rate.

And finally I would like to note what it is necessary to tell the doctor on duty at a time when you are calling in order to call an ambulance. First of all, be sure to indicate exactly where the pain originated and where it is given, specify the exact or maximum approximate time of when it all started. Tell about those drugs that you took and what effect followed. Be sure to include your address or location and other facts that you deem important.

Remember that in such a situation every minute and even with your right call to the ambulance you can save a person's life.
