Gonorrhea: treatment of the disease in women
Infection with gonorrheal infection is a serious problem for a woman, because this can seriously damage reproductive health. Gonorrhea, which is treated only with antibiotics, is an extremely contagious disease transmitted through sexual contact. It is very dangerous if a pregnant woman gets infected with gonococcal infection, as this can lead to serious violations in the future baby.
Diagnostics
Already on the 5th-10th day after infection begins to manifest symptoms of gonorrhea. Photos with a demonstration of external signs of the disease, published in medical publications, will help in self-diagnosis. If you have any suspicions, you need to see a doctor. The presence of infection is revealed by examining the cell samples from the mucous cervix under a microscope.
Gonorrhea: treatment of various forms of the disease
The approach to choosing a particular method of therapy depends entirely on the nature of the course of the disease. So, to cure an acute gonococcal infection, it is enough to undergo antibiotic therapy. If there is chronic gonorrhea, complex treatment should be performed, including not only the reception of an antibacterial drug, but also immunotherapy. Often gonococcal infection is complemented by chlamydial infection. In this case, in addition to the main antibiotic, the administration of additional medications is prescribed: amoxicillin, azithromycin or erythromycin. It is necessary to give up sexual intercourse until the gonorrhea is completely eliminated.
Gonorrhea: treatment during pregnancy
Since most drugs used for therapy with gonococcal infection are not recommended for pregnant women, their symptoms are suppressed by antibacterial agents such as Cefixime and Ceftriaxone. Antibiotics ftorhinolovogo and tetracycline series of pregnant and breastfeeding women are contraindicated.
