Gore Minasyan is an Armenian weightlifter. He is a multiple prize-winner of international competitions, participant of the thirty-first Olympic Games.

The future sportsman was born in the Armenian city of Gyumri. This happened on October 25, 1994. Sports began to pay attention from a young age. Attended wrestling and boxing sections. Seeing in his young talent extraordinary physical abilities, coaches persuaded parents to send their son to weightlifting. So, in the sports history of Armenia a new name appears - Gore Minasyan.

The bar becomes the main sports equipment of the young weightlifter. Here he takes the first serious professional steps and achieves fantastic results. In 2010, Gore Minasyan is part of the junior national team of the country and takes part in the Summer Olympic Youth Games, where he shows the second result in his weight.

Sports achievements of the Armenian weightlifter

At the youth games in Singapore, Gore Minasyan performs in weight over 85 kg. By the sum of the biathlon lifts 350 kilograms and takes the second place, losing to Iranian weightlifter Alireza Kazeminezhad. In the first adult competitions, Gore appears unsuccessful. First at the European Championships, he can not cope with the excitement and takes only the seventh place.

The results shown at the junior competitions held in Lima are canceled due to a failed doping test. Gore Minasyan is suspended from participation in games for 2 years. But already in 2015 in Houston at the World Championships Armenian weightlifter is rehabilitated and takes the third prize in the favorite weight category over 105 kilograms. And in 2016 at the European Championships Gore Minasyan wins silver, which allows him to take a place in the Olympic team of the country and get a ticket to the Olympic Rio de Janeiro.

At the 2016 Olympics, Gore Minasyan performs in his weight category - over 105 kilograms. In it, he reaches the finals, bypassing one Georgian weightlifter, Irakly Turmanidze, and losing to another - Lasha Talakhadze. At the games, Gore sets his own record - in a snatch raises 210 kg, in a jerk - 241. The total amount of a biathlon is 451 kg.

Thus, out of four medals earned by the Armenian national team at the Olympic Games, one is brought by Ghor Minasyan, for which he is awarded universal recognition and state award. He receives a medal "For Services to the Fatherland" of the I degree from the hands of the President of Armenia.
