Flowers with corrugated edges of petals, up to 5 cm in size, small, semi-double, formed on the tips of shoots. The aroma is exquisitely refined, the flowers that have just opened are more palpable.

Lighting

Optimal development of tabernemontany depends to a large extent on correct lighting, which should be bright but diffuse. Ideal option will be the placement of flowers on the western or eastern side of the dwelling. On the southern window sill, the plant will require shading. Tabernemontan, home care beyond which does not require special knowledge, is able to grow in the shade, but abundant flowering should not be expected with this arrangement. For lack of light, the plant reacts by falling leaves.

The bush is very useful for fresh air, so in summer the flower can be kept on the balcony or in the garden. Intolerably tabernemontan, care at home for which absolutely labor-intensive, refers to drafts. During planting buds, the plant is not recommended to be moved to another place.

Winter care

For most plants, winter is a period of rest. At a cool room temperature and natural light , watering, sprinkling and feeding are required; If necessary, remove the buds. In other words, before the onset of spring, provide a rest regime.

At a comfortable temperature (+ 18-20 о С) in winter, it will be necessary to make additional lighting to such unpretentious and charming plant as tabernemontan. Winter care is carried out in the usual way. Compliance with these conditions will cause an abundant flowering of the tropical beauty throughout the winter.

Watering and sprinkling are an important factor of care

Being a native of the subtropical terrain, tabernemontan, care for which gives real pleasure, needs high humidity, therefore in urban apartments where the air is often dry, the plant needs to be regularly moistened. Water must necessarily be permanent, melted or rain. Do not let it get on the flowers of the plant. Watering in hot weather and an abundance of light is preferred abundant (immediately after the drying of the upper layer of the soil) in the summer, in the winter - limited. With excessive moisturizing, the plant sheds leaves and ceases to bloom.

A qualitative growth of the flower requires nutritious soil. The key factor for good care of the plant is its timely watering and frequent fertilizing.

If the leaves began to peel off the edges - it means that the plant lacks water, food, or there is salinity of the upper soil layer. The situation can be saved by transplanting or updating the upper earth layer.

Top dressing

Like any houseplant, tabernemontan will delight in lush flowering when applying soil to the soil. Especially their use is actual in the period of active growth and development of the flower - spring-summer. To do this, it is recommended to use a liquid mineral fertilizer for flowering plants, rich in phosphorus and potassium, which ensures long flowering.

Tabernemontan, care, the reproduction of which at home is completely uncomplicated, will please with magnificent flowering when 2 or 3-year-old bird's humus is introduced into the soil. Fresh product can not be used, because it negatively affects the root system. In the summer, Tabernemontan should be fed twice a month with fertilizer for flowering indoor plants.

For the growth of leaves and stems, a mineral fertilizer is recommended for green plants. Fertilizing watering is best done in the evening. Dosage according to instructions. It should be remembered that an overabundance of fertilizer is much more dangerous than its lack.

Reproduction

Flower tabernemontan, care for which is able to even a person inexperienced, multiplies at any time of the year. When cuttings are used apical or semi-mature shoot length of about 10 cm, which has 2-3 interstices. The cutting is cut off at an oblique angle; The juice released during the cut is required to be washed in water to prevent blockage of the stomata. For guaranteed growth of the roots of the plant stem it is recommended to firstly stand in the growth stimulator ("Heteroauxin", "Kornevin" or "Zircon") within 24 hours.

Cuttings must be planted in small containers, top covered with a glass jar or a transparent bag. The temperature of the contents is about 22 o C, necessarily regular airing. Roots appear about a month later. After they braid the clod of earth, tabernemontan should be moved to a flower pot by the method of transshipment. The plant develops very quickly and can bloom almost immediately after rooting.

Transfer

Tabernaemontana, care of which consists in regular watering and periodic feeding, requires frequent transplantation of young plants - up to several times a year, adults - every 2-3 years. The soil for these purposes should be good to let in water and be loose.

The best composition is made of peat, sand, perlite, leaf and humus earth, connected in equal parts. Also, a plant characterized by a well-developed, branched root system, requires good drainage. Roots quickly fill the space of the pot, so the flower will often have to be transplanted. At the same time, the transfer vessel should not be many times as large as before: there will be enough clearance of 2-3 cm.

Pests and diseases of the tabernemontan plant: care

The leaves turn yellow. This sign indicates the defeat of the plant with chlorosis, which can be controlled by acidification of the substrate, treatment of the soil with iron chelate or iron vitriol and the introduction of useful trace elements. Also, the flower often suffers from a scab or spider mite.

Occasionally, from the underside of the leaves, there are tiny white, subsequently yellowing, and drying droplets. This allocation of leaf glands, which have no relation to the pests. Such a sign indicates excessive watering or a sudden temperature drop.

With a low humidity of air in the room and high temperature, it is possible to observe the gluing of buds that have not yet bloomed, which subsequently fall off. In a young specimen, the flowers may fall off with an abundance of buds.

Trimming

Tabernemontan is characterized by the ability to form a beautiful, symmetrically developing crown, without the need for additional intervention. Pruning, which is better to produce in the spring and summer, may require specimens that have grown from not very high quality cuttings. Moreover, tabernemontan easily transfers the produced manipulations and overgrows very quickly. It does not matter which part was removed: flowers, leaves or trunk.
