Benoit Costil is a French goalkeeper who plays for Rennes. He is also the reserve goalkeeper of the French team. Benoit Costil celebrated his 29th birthday this year.

Benois Costile was born on July 3, 1987 in France, in the city of Caen, with which an impressive part of his career will be connected. At six, he joined the football academy of the tiny Bretteville club, but spent only one year there. In 1994, he was seen in the largest club of his hometown "Kan" and was adopted. As a result, Costil spent eleven years in the system of this club, and in 2005 signed a professional contract with him. But the place in the base for him was not there - first the goalkeeper played for the club's double, and then began to get into the application of the main line-up as a backup goalkeeper. For three years he went on the field only ten times, which did not suit the young gate guard. In 2008, the club decided to give him a chance and sent him to rent. The next season, Benoit Costil held in the club "Vannes".

Rent in "Vanne"

Benoit Costil is a footballer whose career began to take shape not in the way that he would like. In the "Vanne" the situation got a little bit settled - he got a place in the base and played 27 games, after which he returned to "Kan" in the hope that there he will still get a practice game there. However, the management of the club was not impressed with the performances of the goalkeeper, so the contract with him was not extended. No strong club wanted to sign a contract with Costile, so he had to go to the Third Division to get an opportunity to play there.

The game for the "Sedan"

Club "Sedan" from the Third Division of France concluded with the goalkeeper a two-year contract, while giving him a chance to act in the basis. This chance was used by Kostil in full - for two years he spent 76 matches, impressed by many fans with his performances. Benoit Costil, whose photographs began to appear in various sports magazines of the country, became more and more famous. As a result, in 2011 he had a new opportunity to return to the top division - he signed a contract with Rennes.

Transfer to Rennes

It was in the "Renna" goalkeeper and was able to fully reveal and show everyone that he is capable of much. Naturally, no one expected that suddenly Kostil would become the top goalkeeper, who could help his club to climb the Eurocup zone, and also take the place at the gates of the French team. However, Benoit did not disappoint, and at his level he showed a brilliant game. As a result, for five years in the club Costil went on the field 204 times. With the club, of course, he did not win a single trophy, but helped him to stay in the Higher Division and achieve impressive results. In the current season, Costil has played eight matches, three of which have not missed a single goal. His contract with "Renna" is calculated until the end of this season, but the club hopes that it will be able to extend the agreement with the goalkeeper, who has been here for more than five years. However, it is not known whether Benois will want to extend the contract himself - or he decides that it's time to go on raising.

National team appearances

To date, Benoit Costil has not played a single match for the national team of France, and as for the youth teams, there he has only two games on his account. However, this does not mean that no one notices him - Kostil's performances for "Rennes" were noticed back in 2014, when in October he received his first challenge to the national team. However, he was called only as the third goalkeeper, so he did not appear on the field - as in more than twenty subsequent matches to which he was called. Kostil even went to the European Championship in 2016 as a reserve goalkeeper, but also there he spent all the time on the bench.
