Sergei Kovalchuk is a Moldavian football player of Soviet origin. Relatively recently, he completed his career when he was 32 years old. Sergei Kovalchuk played in the position of the central midfielder, but if necessary he could advance to the position of the playmaker, and also shift to the left flank of midfield.

Carier start

Sergei Kovalchuk was born on January 20, 1982 in the Soviet Odessa, where he started playing football. He entered the football academy of the local club "Chernomorets", in which he trained for up to fifteen years. However, in 1997, a fifteen-year-old boy moved to Moldova, where he joined the academy of the club "Tiligul". It was there that he blossomed, starting to play for the main team very early - at the age of sixteen. Sergei Kovalchuk received Moldovan citizenship and up to 2002 he was in favor of "Tiligul". He made his debut for the adult team in 1998, having played six games, and from the following year the 17-year-old talent became a permanent player of the base. In 2000, he marked his first goal, and in the season 01/02 he managed to hammer as many as five balls. In total for the Moldavian club football player played 81 matches, scoring seven goals. However, the above season 01/02 Kovalchuk finished not in Moldova - he returned to his homeland by signing a contract with the Lviv club "Carpathians", which paid "Tiligulu" 250 thousand euros for the transfer.

Homecoming

Sergei Kovalchuk - a footballer who at that time was considered incredibly talented, so he immediately began to perform in the main part of the new club. In the first half of the season, he went on the field 13 times, and for the other two - 29 and 30 times, respectively. During this time he was marked by four more goals, and, of course, such a talent could not stay away from the attention of larger clubs. In the summer of 2004, the 22-year-old midfielder was spotted by Moscow's Spartak, who posted almost two million euros for him. So he moved to Russia and joined the club, which will be associated with an impressive part of his career.

Moving to Russia

In 2004, Kovalchuk was able to play only the second half of the current season, but even then he had 14 outlets on the field. After that, he almost always found the basis of the club, but he was followed by injuries that prevented him from playing on an ongoing basis. In 2006, he played 37 games for the season, and in 2007 - only five. As a result, for five and a half years spent in the club, Kovalchuk played 90 matches, scoring two goals. By the time his contract with the club came to an end, and he decided to change the residence permit - the main reason was that he was less and less likely to go to the starting lineup, and time was passing, and the midfielder wanted to get a practice game. So in the winter of 2010, the 27-year-old moved to Tom, with whom he signed a contract for two years.

Going to "Tom"

In the new club, the midfielder immediately found himself in the starting lineup, getting exactly what he wanted. He played twenty-five matches, after which he received an offer from Zhemchuzhina from Sochi, which he could not refuse. "Tom" received 700 thousand euros of compensation, and Kovalchuk moved to a new Russian club - by that time he had even managed to get Russian citizenship.

The last years of his career

However, in the "Pearl" football player was delayed for a short while - he spent at the club only six months, having played 13 matches, after which he went to his homeland, where he was already waiting for "Chernomorets", in which he began to engage in football. For this club, Sergei played for less than a year and already in April 2012 announced that he is completing his professional career. However, after three months, Kovalchuk said that he had signed a contract with the Kazakhstani "Aktobe" (the football club himself invited him to return), thereby renewing the speeches at a professional level. In a new place, he spent another year and a half, having played 24 matches and scoring two goals, became the champion of Kazakhstan in 2013, and in January 2014 announced the final completion of his career.
