Fabula is not a story!

How to name the case of the narrative from the fact, the chronology, its expression in the laws of action and in the development of the displayed events, their nonrandomness? Fabula - is primarily a literary tradition of constructing works. Initially, the term itself denoted the genre, translated as "fairy tale", "fable", then developed into the basis of the literary text.

Fabula in the Russian tradition

The tradition of the plot, its development began with folklore, myths. In Russian literature, most often this term refers to the plot. Fabula - composition, structure - was studied by Russian literary scholars-formalists and for many years both of these concepts were identified. They did not take into account the dynamics of the figurative reflection of life. However, the writer first of all creates the basis - the actual events in the work, carefully selecting different phenomena (fiction or reality - not so important), which the plot will only handle as the main narrative theme. The plot is just a solution to the problem presented by the plot. It is not raw material, it is an indestructible foundation created by tradition. Therefore, it is not entirely fair to divide the works into plot and plot lines according to the number of twists and turns of the plot construction.

The story in historical development

The history in each of its period created its own story, it is an indisputable fact. Mythological, utopian, romantic, fabulous, realistic and any other plot are different. Their themes are diverse and inexhaustible. But then there are already specific features of the storylines. However, the plot is not something that can be arbitrarily changed and grow in forms, classification and accounting are present here without interruption, since we mean the universal value, the non-national treasure of art. Plenty of storyboards live simultaneously in all lands, slightly modified by folklore, but the main backbone preserving unharmed. For example, the fairy tale about Cinderella has more than three hundred and fifty national variants.

The main types of plot

Mythological plot, embodying the relationship of day and night, that is, darkness and light, winter, spring, summer and autumn, that is, heat and cold, the collision of the indomitable forces of nature and the sophistication of the human mind. The fasbulls consist of allotting flora and fauna with human qualities, whence certain collisions arise, and these archetypes will forever remain alive : the "arrogant red muzzle" - a cunning fox, a stupid monkey, a stupid donkey, etc. Fabulous stories, on the other hand, expand the human nature to a confluence with the cosmos and the animal world, which also gives rise to the peculiarities and patterns of collisions involving ghouls, mermaids and wolf-eaters.

Household plot

Based on local customs of the plot (an example of the most eloquent - "The Dead Souls" by Gogol), called everyday, has the oldest origin. The purchase of dead souls and the consequences of this action is much closer to our times, although it is also immeasurably far from understanding the veracity of such collisions. However, it is difficult to think up a story more witty, especially if one considers that human trafficking was at that time quite a natural phenomenon, absolutely prosaic and no one was interesting from the point of view of literature. The native land of the story novel was not Russia at all. Dickens, Wood, Collins, Elliot grew up and established themselves on the purely English line of the household plot-the inheritance rights. And Conan Doyle drew a detective subspecies of her, immortalizing his Sherlock Holmes.
