Fable "Dragonfly and the Ant" (Krylov IA): content, the history of the fable and morality

All of us from childhood known fable "Dragonfly and the Ant". Krylov I.A. Wrote many memorable works. Especially many people liked about the ant and the dragonfly. And although the fable is known under the authorship of Krylov, the plot he borrowed from the Frenchman Lafontaine, and that - from the ancient Greek Aesop. It has not lost its relevance in our time. So with good reason, we can assume that this situation does not depend on the time in which people live.

Heroes of the fable "Dragonfly and the Ant" (Krylov)

The moral of the work is clear even to children. The heroes of this fable are the Ant and the Dragonfly. Aesop and Lafontaine had a hard-working character called Ants, but his light-hearted interlocutor was called Cicada, Beetle and Grasshopper. It is obvious that the Ant in all countries has become a symbol of diligence, while carelessness is inherent in many. Perhaps Krylov the second heroine made Dragonfly because it is more habitual for our area, whereas who such cicadas, very few people know. Russian fabulist loved simple language and folk expressions. Therefore, his fables are understandable to people with education, and only beginners to learn children.

Content

The fable "Dragonfly and the Ant" is a vivid example of two opposing qualities of character - laziness (indolence) and industriousness. The plot of the work says the following. Lived cheerful Dragonfly, while it was warm, she fluttered and sang. Time passed quickly, she had nowhere to live and nothing to eat. There comes a cold winter, which is not easy to survive even for those who took care of themselves in advance, and Dragonfly is clearly not one of those. Now she is no longer up to the songs, because when she is hungry, it's hard to have fun. The dragonfly weakened, she was depressed, hoping for help, she went to her ant Mur. To her, she applies for shelter and food. The lady believes that she will not refuse to do so, because she needs help for a little while, only until the spring. However, he reacted to her request coolly and asked if the goby worked the summer. The dragonfly is somewhat surprised by this question, because there were so many other, more pleasant pursuits. She frolicked, sang songs, walked on soft grass. Probably something similar to the Ant and supposed to hear (and maybe even saw a carefree kum with his friends while walking with another blade of grass to warm his home). Therefore, she sends her home, saying that if she was engaged in such pastime, then we must continue in the same spirit and begin to dance. Idleness and diligence are encountered in the work. This is the story of the fable "Dragonfly and the Ant". Krylov shows how unfortunate Dragonfly can lead to unfortunate consequences - it remains without roof and food.

Conclusion

The moral of this fable is transparent: you do not want to freeze or starve - work, and do not be entertained. Here, the condemnation of freeloaders - people who are accustomed to living at the expense of others - is clearly discernible. Some believe that the Ant has shown unnecessary cruelty.

Fable "Dragonfly and the Ant". Krylov, Lafontaine and Aesop. Comparative analysis

In Aesop's fable the Grasshopper asked to give him food, and Lafontaine Cicada also wanted to get the prepared supplies in debt. The Russian Ant refused, not only in food, but also in warm shelter. Since the fable clearly states that there was no shelter for Dragonfly, since its nearest bush became its house, it becomes clear that it is doomed to Hungry death, if not freeze before. Also in the Greek and French fable, the heroes were same-sex: men from Aesop, women from Lafontaine. Here, a man drives a woman away. But it is typical for our people to survive, we must work. On this subject, many sayings and proverbs have been invented. So it's hard to blame Ant for his decision. Therefore it is necessary to be able to take care of yourself, not counting on the help of others, this is what the fable "Dragonfly and the Ant" teaches. Krylov I.A. Very clearly and clearly conveyed the moral to the Russian people.
