Morality is ...

As we know, the foundations of morality were laid in ancient society. At that time, she acted as a regulator of the behavior of people in the team, at home, at work. Morality was the support and support of all social foundations of life, reflected the totality of different rules and norms of behavior of people in the group. Virtually the rules of morality were one for all, without exception, regardless of ranks and estates. These canons reflect all the spiritual needs of people and living conditions.

Modern dictionaries say that morality is a system of requirements, norms and rules of human behavior that evolved in the course of history. Adherence to these norms is purely voluntary. Morality draws a line between virtue and evil, between conscience and dishonor, between charity and cruelty.

As our contemporary Frances Fukuyama says , morality is our social capital, which determines the degree of social viability. It is close in meaning to collective intuition, aimed at settling and reducing social conflicts.

If we return to the origins of the definition, then, for example, Kant believed that each of us has his own internal law of morality, but it has been repeatedly proved that the great philosopher was seriously mistaken in his theory. Moral principles are brought up in the child in childhood, in the process of development and learning.

Philosophy and morality

It is undeniable that the connection between philosophy and morality is inseparable. Traditions were laid by Socrates, it was he who persuaded everyone that people commit evil through ignorance, and not of their own free will, because you can not commit evil deeds, knowing virtue. The problems of evil and good in the world are relevant now, like thousands of years ago. Understanding that morality is the foundation of the foundations of human existence, Pythagoras, Plato, and other thinkers of antiquity also expressed in their writings.

Turning to contemporaries, we can not fail to mention Huseynov, who philosophizes that morality has now suffered serious changes in comparison with the traditional. If earlier civilization was criticized by morality, now everything is fundamentally the reverse. Indeed, in the minds of people, the basic principles of morality have changed, and now everyone has his own philosophy. Morality is something that has not purely individual motives. That for one is alien and immoral, then for another - the norm of life.

Interaction of religion and morals

Morality and religion are closely interrelated spheres of culture. Their similarity is noticeable in spiritual manifestations, but the influence of the church on public morals is incomparably greater than the influence of morality. Faith defines not only the relationship between a deity and a person, but interpersonal relations in society. God represents moral requirements that need to be followed. As Frankl said: "God is a personalized conscience." The moral principle exists already in the idea of God, it is inseparable from religion.

The world of morality is like a temple in which moral relics are honored. They have a human character (for example, faithfulness of spouses, mother's love, respect for the elderly).

Religion had a great influence on the moral principles of different peoples. In monotheistic religions, the boundaries of morality, good and evil are much more rigid than in those religions where the people profess polytheism.

With the development of morality and its basic principles, often the religious canons began to be condemned and disappointed by society and the clergy. So, for example, injustice and excessive cruelty to members of another faith, atheists is considered immoral.

But as a religion can exist without moral principles, so also on the contrary, therefore religion and morality are those spiritual spheres that interact indirectly with one another.
