Learning how to use Windows XP hot keys

Many users, especially those who are just starting to learn how to use a computer, do not suspect how important it is to know the hot keys of Windows XP. But knowing how to use this ability to interact with the system, you can significantly increase the time savings, which will have a beneficial effect on performance.

At first glance, it may seem that learning the hot keys of Windows XP will be long and difficult. However, it is necessary to understand that knowing these buttons and their combinations will help not only when working with the operating system. Most of them activate very versatile commands that will be useful when working with many popular applications for text processing, graphics or for surfing the web pages. Accordingly, the time spent on development is certainly not called wasted.

Of course, you do not need to know all the buttons and their combinations. But there are Windows hotkeys that are most often used. These are the most common combinations, each user should know them.

So, the series "Cntrl + C", "Cntrl + V" and "Cntrl + X" allow, respectively, to copy, paste or cut objects. A simple combination of "Cntrl + A" will help them to highlight all within one window. These Windows XP hot keys work in almost all programs and will be especially useful when working with Word or its counterparts. Here also the knowledge of the combination "Cntrl + Z" is very useful, which cancels any previous action, which often helps with random errors.

To delete objects, there is a "Del" or "Delete" key. But, using it, the file will fall into the basket, from which it is easy to recover. To perform a complete deletion, you must press "Shift + Delete". To navigate the page, it is very convenient to use the "Home" and "End" keys, which move, respectively, up or down the windows.

Many novice users are faced with a "problem" that occurs when you accidentally press the "CapsLock" and "Insert" keys. Their location quite often provokes their launch, resulting in the bewilderment of the person working at the computer. The first of these buttons turns on the mode of entering uppercase letters, and the second one automatically replaces the characters to the right of the cursor with those entered by the user. Pressing these keys again deactivates the activated mode.

When switching between windows it is very convenient to use "Alt + Tab", and for instant closure of any application "Alt + F4" is useful. The knowledge of the "Win" or "Windows" button located between "Cntrl" and "Alt" may also be useful. It can still have a graphic designation in the form of a logo of the operating system from Microsoft. Using "Win + Tab" also allows you to navigate between the buttons, "Win + F" - opens the menu for finding objects in the system, "Win + D" - turns all windows, and then again restores the previous view.

These hotkeys of Windows XP will be useful in the most common situations that need to be performed by the user. Many of them will help, as already mentioned above, and when working with other applications, so it is very important to give them some time to remember.

It should be noted that any frequently used application should be carefully studied, since by opening its "Settings" or "Options" it will be possible to see the hotkeys and their combinations provided by the developers, which will greatly simplify the management of the main functions of the program. For example, having mastered the hot keys of Windows Media Player, you no longer need to drag your mouse to the main control buttons, open context menus. It will be enough just to press the necessary keys on the keyboard. By the way, many modern keyboards are equipped with a group of buttons "ScrollLock", which are placed above the rest and allow you to give the basic commands to all media applications.
