Exercises for scoliosis

One of the first places among the most common ailments in modern society rightfully takes scoliosis. This disease of the spine is characterized by its various curvatures. There are also various classifications of scoliosis, for example, by location and shape of curvature, by origin and by the development of the disease.

Whatever the diagnosis, stop the further development of any curvature of the spine will help physiotherapy. Naturally, all exercises for scoliosis should be performed under the supervision of a specialist, but there are some that can be performed at home on their own. It is important only to know certain rules and follow them.

Before you start the exercises for the back with scoliosis, you need to prepare the spine for the load. For this, it needs to be relaxed or stretched out. This can be achieved with the help of a horizontal bar, for a few minutes hanging on it in a relaxed state. You can also lie on a flat surface and reach out with your hands and feet in opposite directions. After this, it is desirable to immediately perform exercises to treat scoliosis.

Exercises for scoliosis should begin with exercises near the wall. It is necessary to take a position: feet on the width of the shoulders, hands to rest against the wall. Then, without looking up from the floor, you need to bend as much as possible. After that, you should stretch the spine, lifting your hands up. At the next stage, you need to press your back against the wall in such a way that the neck, shoulder blades, buttocks, calves and heels fit snugly against it. This position of the body is the most correct from the point of view of medicine. If you manage to fix yourself for a while in this position, then you can talk about a successful start.

There are various fairly effective exercises in scoliosis. Among them, the first place is occupied by the exercise "bicycle". To implement it, you need to lie on a flat surface, hands to wind over your head or stretch them along the body. The legs perform circular motions, imitating the movement of pedals while riding a bicycle.

After such an exercise, after resting a minute, you can proceed to the next. Without changing the original position, it is necessary to produce legs in the horizontal plane. Movement should resemble the process of crossing scissor blades when cutting something. At the same time, you should try not to raise your legs too high, but keep them as much as possible parallel to the surface on which the patient lies.

After a set of exercises in a supine position, you can begin to perform exercises with standing scoliosis. Initially, it is good to stretch the joints in the shoulders. To do this, you need to bend your arms in the elbows, put your fingers on your shoulders and perform circular mahi. It is very important to do this quietly, do not try to describe as many circles as possible, this will not bring anything good. Then you can go to squats. Here, an important point is also the low execution speed. Hands should be placed in the sides and rotated so that the palms looked up.

The next stage is exercise, lying on one side. Usually, all actions in this case should be performed alternately for each side. You can start with vertical swings. As well as at the last stage, it is important to do everything slowly and smoothly, as sharp movements can only exacerbate the situation. Addition to the previous exercise will be the circular motion of the legs with an extended toe. After all the desired exercises will be passed on the right side, you can turn over and do all the same, lying on the left.

It is very effective to perform exercises using a stick. Standing on a level surface, the legs are on the width of the shoulders, you need to raise your arms straight above your head, holding a stick in them. It is possible to carry out swings with straight legs to the sides or to make turns by the body. A stick in the hands in this case helps to take the correct position of the spine and pull it out.

If you perform a set of similar exercises on a regular basis, then there is a huge chance to forget about scoliosis pretty soon.
