Its legal name is "The Establishment of Culture of the Chamber Drama Theater", but the people have taken on a different name - "Chamber Drama Theater", or simply "KDT". The creative team has its history since 1999. It was at that time that the performance "Glass Menagerie" (based on the same name by Tennessee Williams) staged by director Alexei Basov was shown at the Tula Puppet Theater. Already after the first performance with actors from different troupes there was a desire to open its dramatic theater. Tula would gladly accept the appearance of a new cultural object in 1999, but there was no one's own premises, as well as sponsors ready to help in its acquisition. The creative team sustained about 5 years of wandering in different scenes and after the official registration received a room at the address: Dzerzhinsky Street, house 8 - where it is today.
