Dogs

The breed of beagle dogs is one of the oldest hunting varieties, once widespread in Europe. Several centuries ago, their ancestors, along with riding hunters pursued various animals: they drove prey, waiting for the arrival of the owner. In some cases, these dogs were used as pickling when hunting with hunting birds or tyrants.

Hound dogs chase the beast with barking on the trail. They selectively developed the viscosity - perseverance in pursuit, a subtle flair, cultivated those qualities that could ensure a successful hunt. A hunter who knows the habits of a dog hound could easily intercept the victim in the path of pursuit and with a successful shot put it.

Hunting with the hounds of dogs in Russia is known since the Middle Ages, when, along with the existing local breeds, for the beloved fun of kings and boyars - falconry - began to use and imported French, British and Polish representatives. As a result, such varieties of this breed as Harlequin, Kostroma, Bruda, Russian-Polish, etc. were formed.

Today, the Russian, English-Russian or piebald, as well as Estonian hounds, dogs, whose representatives are widely used for breeding purposes, have the most stable position both in terms of field qualities and exteriors.

Hounds of Russian breed have a wedge-shaped head, short, without a suspension, a thick tail, dry clawed legs with a tracking paw. Their shoe is well knocked down, with a low rib. The dog itself is "dressed" in a warm fur with a soft undercoat, except for the paws and head.

The color of the Russian hound is scarlet, its back is black. Sometimes we also admit grayish and black color, which has yellow markings, which indicates the impurity of the Polish breed. The height of the withers varies between 55-57 centimeters.

Hounds of Anglo-Russian breed differ from Russian representatives by their longer, rounded ears and round, non-mundane eyes. Their head is slightly more massive, and their paws may look like felines and have a round shape, which is a sign of the presence of English ancestors.

The tail of Anglo-Russian hound dogs has a slight suspension, while the wool of representatives of this species is much poorer, the undercoat as such is not.

The most typical color of the Anglo-Russian breed is black-piebald in blush, although sometimes red and yellow spots are also allowed.

Hounds dogs have long slept in kennels on straw, the contents in the house or apartment pamper them. It is most convenient for such a dog in a kennel or shed, so she feels constantly at liberty.

To feed an adult dog is best twice a day, if possible, warning him about food by some signal. As a food, homemade food is used, which can be supplemented with raw meat, fish, bones, various porridges, etc.

Long hounds are very important for beagle dogs, but they should not tire them.

Since hunting can occur in conditions of bad weather, the dog of this breed should be accustomed to them. To this end, you need to train the dog in advance on the asphalt, sand, gravel, while you must ensure that it does not hurt the paws.

The best time to learn this dog is the beginning of the melting of snow. You need to start with the hare-rabbits, since this animal is best able to confuse traces, running around in circles and deceiving the hunter.

Today in our country the interest to dogs of the hounds breed is almost completely reduced to nothing. There are many reasons for this. Firstly, such a dog can not be kept in an apartment, and secondly, there is practically no game in our forests that can be hunted extensively, and if we add to this the numerous limitations, we can understand why the hounds have such low popularity .
