Cocktail "Negroni": a recipe and ways of making a drink

Count Camillo de Negroni was well known in the company of friends for his addiction to alcohol. Of all the products known at the time, he recognized only the good old gin and the popular Americano cocktail in those years, which was made on the basis of the bitter liqueur "Campari", sweet vermouth and soda. To thoroughly drunk, the count had to drink more than a dozen glasses. Then he came up with a great idea. The enterprising Italian decided to replace the soda with his favorite gin.

It turned out a fairly strong drink, which later became known as the cocktail "Negroni". The recipe really liked the creator. Now, coming to any bar, he asked to make him drink only such a composition. Many experts appreciated the taste of an unusual product. In their opinion, it causes rather inconsistent associations. The drink turned out to be both bitter and sweet, simple and original in its own way. The product really fell in love, and after 30 years it was recognized even by the International Bar Association and recorded in its ranks as the cocktail "Negroni". The recipe was adopted in almost all drinking establishments. Now every specialist knows it by heart.

Worthy alternative

Classic Negroni is a cocktail, the recipe of which includes three main ingredients (gin, vermouth and "kampari"), taken in the same quantity. To make a drink, you need to measure 30 milliliters of each product and mix them with ice. The resulting composition must first be stirred in a glass of a cocktail spoon, and then drank with a volley, until it has not heated up. The strength of such a mixture is about 30 percent, which is quite a lot. Fans of light wines decided to slightly improve the product and came up with a new "Negroni" (cocktail). The recipe was slightly adjusted, and now the alternative is as follows:

  1. To make one serving, you need to take 20 milliliters of dry vermouth, gin and Martini.
  2. Drinks should be poured into the shaker.
  3. Add crushed ice and mix well.
  4. Then the product must be filtered and poured into a chilled glass, and then decorated with zest or a slice of orange.

A pleasant combination of wines gives the drink a special flavor, and the presence of gin makes it even more pronounced.

  • On 15 milliliters of tequila and mescal,
  • As well as chocolate, ice and orange peel.

The drink is also prepared in a different way:

  1. First, one large and several small pieces of ice should be put in a glass or a glass.
  2. Pour in turn all the products provided by the recipe.
  3. Stir thoroughly with a bar-spoon.
  4. Top with orange peel and a piece of chocolate.

As a result of this combination of ingredients, a product with a rather original and not quite ordinary taste is obtained.
