Parrot Aquarium Fish

Among the fans of aquariums there is one, very popular - it's a parrot, an aquarium fish. It belongs to the family of cichlids - with an easily discernible sex, an interesting and very bright coloration, with a very easy breeding. The name "cichlids" subconsciously associates with a certain monster, large and gluttonous, which eats up literally all the greens in the aquarium and terrorizes its "co-vaccinators". However, the parrot is an aquarium fish - a pleasant exception, the most peaceful of these subspecies, perfectly coexisting with many other aquarium inhabitants. It is the most peaceful representative of its species, among which there are many predators.

Of course, when speaking of a "parrot", an aquarium fish hardly comes to mind, it is difficult to understand that this is a water inhabitant, but this is only for those who did not have an aquarium, and, moreover, did not breed fish. This bird name is given to them because of the shape of the head, very resembling the parrot's beak, and also because of its bright and bizarre color. And with all this, experienced aquarists talk about deviations in their anatomical structure, which sometimes lead to the death of individual individuals.

Named in the past, kibbensis, and today the parrot - an aquarium fish today has eight centimeters long, and the males are much larger than females. This fish can safely co-exist with both the rasskorami, and with haratsinovym, it will not touch and fry of guppies, the main thing - that it always had enough forage.

Food for parrots is quality dry food and any live - bloodworm, floating granules, etc.

As a result of the hybrid, the parrot - the aquarium fish is quite resistant to external infections, from which it is successfully cured. But it carries its own viruses much harder.

Diseases of parakeet fish are not very easy to recognize, especially if the host does not have enough practice, but an experienced aquarist should be sufficiently knowledgeable.

For example, if a parrot has a dark spot on the body, this may be the result of either the transferred stress or poor quality of the aquatic environment. The first thing is better to clean the aquarium water, almost half of the entire volume, and also to wash the soil. As a rule, such cleaning helps, and stains, not immediately of course, but disappear.

If the fish is lying on the bottom or almost does not float, then, most likely, it has poisoning or overeating. It should be transferred to a separate reservoir, in which water add methylene and half a tablet of metronidazole. There must be a powerful aerator in the rider. Feed for the period of treatment should be only bloodworm, and water should be changed every day, and again adding all the medications. Ideally, improvement should occur in five days.

If there are white specks resembling semolina on the parrot's body , then most likely your pet fell ill with ichthyophriosis, for which it is necessary that the aquarist wash the filter, prosifonil completely the soil and change a third of the water. The medicine that treats this disease is called Sera costapur, but it has some peculiarities. It must be poured into the aquarium water at night, in the dark, because In the light this drug decomposes. The amount is determined by the instructions, depending on the volume of the aquarium. Sera costapur is added to the aquarium every day, of course after the water is drained again. The treatment procedure lasts until the white spots disappear completely. And for the period of treatment, the water should be slightly heated, raising the degree by one or two indicators, but not exceeding 28 ° C. Important and constant aeration.

The most important thing is to notice the diseases in time, and no matter what they are, the diseases of the fish of parrots or other inhabitants of your aquarium. The main thing is to save all other fish from infection, because the disease is treated at the earliest stage of the disease.
