Bor Glassworks was founded in 1930. Today it is the unconditional leader in the domestic market of auto glass. The company's products comply with international standards. The main shareholder is AGC Group. The production is actively developing, the construction of the production buildings of the triplex in 2006 raised the characteristics of the products to a new level.

Historical reference

In the early 30's a large-scale production of sheet glass was launched in the city of Bor of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The enterprise quickly became one of the industry leaders. With the development of mechanized transport, the question arose of organizing specialized production first of the front and then side and rear windows.

Manufacture of automobile boron glasses of a class triplex on БСЗ has been mastered in 1940. Initially, a celluloid base was used as the protective layer, in time it was replaced by a polyvinyl butyral film and polymers.

Since 1948, the production of steel - tempered glass with special properties. When splitting it splits into many small fragments that do not have sharp trauma-dangerous faces. They have glass of rear and side windows of vehicles.

The modernization of 1970 with the installation of German equipment company Sack allowed to produce the best quality multi-layer autoglass. Bor Glassworks became the undisputed leader in the production of this type of product in the socialist bloc.

New stage

With the acquisition in 1997 of the shares of the Borsk plant by the Glaverbel transnational corporation, the positions of the company have significantly increased. Significant finances were sent for the reconstruction of technological capacities.

Later the owner of BSZ became AGC Group. In the period 2006-2009, three additional lines for wind laminated auto glass were built. The Added Value Operations Center and the Control Center have been created.

Technologies

In recent years, a comprehensive modernization of the manufacturing processes for the production of Bor Glass from various brands has been carried out. In the 2000s, large investment projects worth more than $ 50 million were realized. In particular, the cold repair of the second and then the first float line was carried out. To date, BSZ has the most advanced equipment in Russia.

The technological process of preparing glass by the float method consists of:

1. Preparation of return cullet and charge;
2. Melting of glass;
3. Forming a glass ribbon;
4. Annealing;
5. Cutting, cutting into formats.

Production

The release of products for vehicles (road, rail) is the leading direction of the BSZ. Triplex boron windshield is made on three specialized lines. It corresponds to Russian, Japanese, American, European standards. The quality of the tempered rear and side windows is not inferior to the international counterparts. Total capacity is 1.4 million sets of vehicles per year.

In Russia there are 9 distribution centers for product promotion, 38 workshops for the replacement of auto glass. Bor Glass is supplied to such auto giants as Mercedes, Mitsubishi, AvtoVAZ, GAZ, Volvo, VW Group, Toyota, Ford, Daimler, KIA, Renault, Citroen, Nissan, Peugeot and others.

In addition to the automobile, a large-scale production of construction sheet glass is carried out at the Borsk glass plant. Two ultra-modern float lines produce about 1200 tons of products per day. This glass is widely used in the construction of housing, as well as in large urban projects. AGC Borglassworks products were used for the construction of Moscow City, Skolkovo IC, objects of the Kazan Universiade, Olympic facilities in Sochi, airports in Novosibirsk, Moscow, Adler, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar.

Production

Bor Glassworks has Gosstandart certificates for glass production:

• Automotive (triplex, hardened);
• Bulletproof;
• Spherical with a mirror coating;
• Sheet.

The laminated safety triplex consists of 2-3 sheets of polished glass, between which is a photocurable composition or polyvinyl butyral film. The layer absorbs shock, prevents cracks from spreading, and keeps fragments.

Tempered boron glass is produced by heat treatment and subsequent uniform air cooling. The material acquires an increased strength, in case of fracture, it breaks up into trauma-safe fragments.

In addition to the basic functions, the glasses are endowed with special properties that increase comfort, safety and durability of products. The BSZ produces the following types of innovative glasses:

• Wind heat reflective class IRIS.
• With regulation of light transmission.
• With heating elements, heating coating.

Recently, the development of "smart" glasses, which are useful for the driver information. The indicators displayed at the eye level allow not to take your eyes off the road. Also useful elements are built-in or printed-in antennas for communication, receiving radio and television signals.
