Modern Russian fighters: characteristics (photo)

Since the time when aviation has found its use on the battlefield, its role in combat operations has become clear, especially at the present time, when Russian fighters have more and more sophisticated and powerful weapons for combat.

The speed of combat vehicles in the air is constantly increasing. Work continues to reduce visibility on the radar screens.

Recently, the means of combat have grown so much that with the help of aviation alone, military conflicts are being resolved. In any case, in the current military conflicts, the key role belongs to the air fleet.

Fifth generation aircraft

Recently, you can often hear the term "fifth generation". What does this concept mean, what is the difference between aircraft from the previous generation.

In this case, we can talk about clear requirements:

  1. Fifth-generation aircraft should be as inconspicuous as possible for radars, and in all wave bands, especially in infrared and radar.
  2. The aircraft must necessarily have multifunctional properties.
  3. At the same time, modern Russian fighters are a super-maneuverable machine, with the possibility of escaping from the enemy at supersonic speed without forcing.
  4. Also, fifth generation aircraft must carry out all-round close combat. In doing so, they are firing multichannel missiles of different ranges. In addition, at speeds higher than the speed of sound, the aircraft electronics must have capabilities that help the pilot in solving many problems.

VC Russia has at its disposal an excellent machine in order not to be the last in the protection of airspace: light MiG-35, designed for many years, MiG-31, Russian fighter SU-30SM, new T-50 (PAK FA).

T-50 (PAK FA)

The new development of Russian aircraft builders T-50 (PAK FA) amazes imagination with its capabilities. He is fantastic in the same way as the fighters from the movie Star Wars.

The aircraft is super maneuverable, it has the capability of being invisible to radars. The fighter can fight at any distance, striking at targets both in the sky and on the ground.

What makes the T-50 invisible?

The airframe is 70% made using composite materials. They significantly reduce the scattering area. Such parameters allow you to slip away from enemy radars, because on the T-50 screen it will be seen as an object with the size of an air balloon.

The newest Russian fighter is equipped with powerful engines: there are two of them. They have a function controlled by the thrust vector, thanks to which the aircraft becomes very maneuverable. T-50 (PAK FA) can turn in the air almost on the spot.

Protection against air defense on PAK FA

To reduce the radar visibility of enemy air defense, the engines pass from the round march nozzles to the flat ones. And although this reduces the efficiency of the engine from loss of traction, but this solution allows you to "hide" the turbines of the aircraft from the radar and in the infrared range.

In addition, the T-50 (PAK FA) power plant makes it possible to accelerate the aircraft to supersonic speed even without the application of afterburner, which is inaccessible for Class 4 +++ aircraft.

It should be noted that the newest Russian fighter cost the domestic treasury $ 2 billion. A plane of the same class from the company Lockheed Martin F-22 cost the Americans $ 67 billion.

Clever plating T-50

It's not so easy to get close to the T-50: six radars are distributed throughout the airframe to provide a 360 degree view. The opto-electronic sensor of the target detection system is located to the right of the cabin. Behind is already an infrared sensor, which helps the system see threats "behind the back."

The sensors of the equipment for the station "Himalaya" of electronic warfare are scattered over the surface of the PAK FA. They allow the advanced aircraft to remain invisible to enemy radars, but the aircraft itself can notice invisible aircraft of the enemy.

Su-30 - advanced domestic combat aircraft

The Russian Su-30 fighter is a modern large-scale car, appeared in 1988 in the Soviet times.

The base aircraft for the creation of advanced "drying" was the training and combat Su-27UB. The new machine was equipped with an air refueling system, and navigation and armament management systems were also improved.

Already in 1992, during the perestroika, the first serial Su-30 took off. The mass production of military vehicles was then suspended, and the Russian Defense Ministry bought out only 5 cars for the needs of the army.

But the first Russian Su fighters were not the advanced planes that we see now. At that time, they were able to use only weapons of an uncontrolled air-to-ground type.

But already in 1996, the Su-30MKI (I - "Indian") began to be produced. On them appeared the front horizontal plumage, improved avionics and engines with controlled thrust vector.

Su-30 performance characteristics

  • The combat load that a fighter can carry is 8 tons.
  • Basic armament, typical for domestic machines - 30 mm GSh-301.

Flight characteristics are improved due to the existing system of refueling in the air.

Su-30 aircraft continue the line of Su-27UB aircraft. But the new generation SU vehicles already have a modernized type radar with a phased array antenna, in the future it is possible to install a radar with an active type of ballistic missile. The new "Sushki" already provides in advance for the installation of sighting and navigation containers on a special suspension.

Such data allow using all air-to-surface destruction weapons on the airplane: corrected air bombs of various caliber, supersonic anti-ship missiles of class X-31.

MiG-35

Another representative, which can easily be attributed to the fifth generation aircraft - the MiG-35.

The Russian fighters MiG belong to the machines of the generation 4 ++, this designation is intended to show that this aircraft surpasses the combat qualities of the fourth-generation car. Also, he is able to successfully fight for airspace with fighters of the fifth generation.

That is why MiG-35 due to the fact that the production of cars of this class is relatively cheaper than fifth-generation products - a suitable alternative for air defense forces.

What distinguishes the MiG-35?

What can a fighter do?

  • Intercept air targets;
  • Strengthen superiority in the air;
  • Concentration on the battlefield;
  • Suppress air defense facilities;
  • Aviation support of ground forces;
  • Destruction of sea targets.

What is the difference between the MiG-35D and the MiG-35 in comparison with the MiG-29:

  • Super maneuverability;
  • Increased range of flight;
  • High combat survivability;
  • Exceptional reliability.

Like all modern Russian fighters, this aircraft may well act as a transient fighter between the generations of 4 +++ and 5.

  1. The airplane is well modernized from the single version to the double room.
  2. The new powerful engine has an increased resource.
  3. Locator station ZHUK-AE has an active phased antenna. This allows the aircraft to conduct simultaneously up to 30 air targets and attack six of them at once.
  4. The MiG-35 has opto-location stations.
  5. Detection and recognition of ground targets such as a tank is carried out at ranges up to 20 km.
  6. Protection, which allows you to minimize the sudden attack of the enemy, recognizes both aircraft and launched missiles.
  7. Combat load up to 6 tons. At the same time, the availability of arms suspension points increased from six to eleven.

Su-47 (C-37) Berkut

Russian fighters Su-47 Berkut or S-37 are different:

  • Increased combat autonomy;
  • All-purpose application;
  • Supersonic cruising speed;
  • Low visibility;
  • Super maneuverability.

Actually, the aircraft is a prototype of the fifth generation cars. Black color gives the fighter a more formidable and imposing appearance.

Successfully solving the tasks posed helps, typical for this machine, a wing with a reverse sweep. Russian military fighters Su-47 have a set of intelligent composite materials that are used for self-adapting designs. The fuselage itself is made of titanium and aluminum alloys and has up to six cargo spaces for the placement of weapons items. This makes the aircraft even more unobtrusive.

Folding wing consoles are almost 90% made of composite materials. This solution allows using the aircraft as a deck fighter. For the withdrawal from the corkscrew, the machine is equipped with an integrated remote control system.

To control the aircraft, the pilot can use multi-function consoles. They have all the necessary controls for the pilot. This helps to pilot the SU-47, without removing hands from the RUS and ORE.

Yak-141

Due to the fact that the aircraft is supersonic, it is perfectly used to intercept air targets, can conduct close combat, perform assault attacks not only for ground targets, but also for surface attacks.

The Russian Yak-141 fighters are quite suitable for the definition of modern aircraft. They have an indispensable function of vertical take-off and landing. And at the same time, the machines are supersonic and multi-purpose.

Russian fighters (photos of which are presented in the article) are quite able to cope with the tasks of intercepting and conducting close combat.

After the first specimen was built in 1986, this machine for the first class aircraft was able to overcome the speed barrier of sound. The climb time for the Russian aircraft is much less than for the similar British model of the VTOL Harrier.

Due to the fact that he does not need standard runways, he quite well takes off without taxiing out to the runway from the shelters right on the exit taxiway. And this can ensure a mass takeoff of a group of Yak-141 aircraft. Such characteristics allow using it as deck aviation.

Americans, like the Russian military, are already working on the creation of the sixth generation aircraft. In all respects, these machines must surpass the aircraft of the 5th generation, both for maneuverability and low-visibility. In addition, fighter aircraft of the sixth generation may have hypersonic speed (about 5.8 thousand km / h). Piloting can be either remote or carried out directly by the pilot.
