The oil industry of Russia is one of the key for the country's economy. It is represented by many enterprises. Among the most important - Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery. Contacts between this plant and other enterprises of the industry are carried out within the group of companies owned by the country's largest oil corporation, Rosneft.

Novokuibyshevsky refinery (oil refinery) is located in the Samara region. The enterprise is one of the companies that are part of the Samara group of oil refineries, which in 2007 was acquired by Rosneft. Novokuibyshevsky refinery appeared in 1951. It was launched the release of a number of petroleum products, which until that time in the USSR were not produced: for example, rocket oil and fuel for jet engines.

In the late 50's and mid-60's. The plant passed several stages of modernization, its capacity expanded. New technological processes in the field of petrochemistry were mastered. In the early 1970s, the refinery was reconstructed. In the 1990s, it was upgraded facilities designed for catalytic reforming, thanks to which the Novokuibyshevsky refinery was able to completely reorient itself to the production of unleaded gasoline .

History of the refinery: the Soviet period

The history of the plant includes several periods. The first is characterized by work in the Soviet era. So, in 1951 the Novokuibyshevsky oil refinery was launched. Oil industry workers began to work for the benefit of the socialist economy. The enterprise was built, according to a number of experts, for the needs of the defense and rocket and space industries. At the plant, the production of sufficiently advanced products for the Soviet oil industry was established.

History of the refinery: as part of the Yukos company

After the collapse of the USSR, the enterprise moved to a new era. Time of market economy. Assets of the Novokuibyshevsk refinery (as part of the authorized capital) fell into the possession of the oil company Yukos, established in November 1992. The enterprise, being a part of a large company, was actively developing: in particular, in the 1990s, YUKOS forces upgraded all capacities operating in the Samara region. Improvement of production processes also affected the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery.

As part of the modernization program, Yukos has divided the refining technologies, each of which has been applied at a separate enterprise that is part of the group of companies. In particular, at the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery, the capacities were redesigned so that oil refining occurred at the most profound level. The raw materials to be processed at the plant (in the form of heavy distillates) were brought here from the Samara refinery and a similar enterprise in Syzran.

History of the refinery: in the structure of Rosneft

In 2007, a new period of the plant's work began - it was bought by Rosneft. The plant's capacities were subject to the next stage of modernization. As a result, new types of products were produced at the refinery. Such as diesel fuel (corresponding to the quality standards of the European model), as well as bitumen of new samples used in road construction.

Refinery Activities

Now the plant continues to play a significant role in the Russian oil refining industry. The work of the holding company "Rosneft" largely depends on such a plant as the Novokuibyshevsky refinery. In a year it can process about 9.56 million tons of oil - this is the capacity of its capacities. In 2007, in particular, the indicator on an annualized basis was 7.43 million tons (that is, capacities were loaded by about 77.7%).

The depth of oil refining was quite high - about 77.4% in the same 2007. To understand where the raw materials supplied to the Novokuibyshevsky refinery are mined, the map of Western Siberia will be very necessary for us - it is there (and also in the Samara region) that the target fields are concentrated. The enterprise produces fuel for virtually all types of transport. It also produces components that are part of lubricating oils, petrochemical products, spit, bitumen. The enterprise is preparing for reconstruction within the framework of a separate program that stipulates that a hydrocracking complex, a reformer will be built, and infrastructure elements for isomerization and coking will be reconstructed. The purpose of the modernization program is to ensure the production of products at the refinery, which will comply with the Euro-5 standard.

About Rosneft

What is Rosneft, which owns the assets of such an enterprise as the Novokuibyshevsky refinery? The address (legal) of this organization is in Moscow. A number of sources indicate that this firm is the leader of the Russian oil industry and at the same time one of the world's largest companies in this industry. Rosneft is engaged in reconnaissance work, extracts oil and gas, and produces many types of petroleum products. In addition to the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery, it owns other factories.

Rosneft also operates in the gas industry. The production of "blue fuel" in the total share of minerals extracted by the company is about 10%. But from year to year this sector, as analysts say, acquires for the company an increasing priority (which may be due to the large amount of gas reserves accessed by Rosneft). There are data indicating that the company expects to produce 55 billion cubic meters of gas by 2020 annually.

There is evidence that Rosneft is one of Russia's strategic companies. The main shareholder of the company is Rosneftegaz OJSC (75.16% of shares), which, in turn, is 100% owned by the state.
