Block FBS - an indispensable building material

The use of FBS blocks has long been widespread in our country in the construction of capital buildings and Constructions. Such a wide application they have received due to the strength of their design, simple and inexpensive at a cost of installation compared with the ribbon foundation.

Advantages of FBS units

Block FBS has frost resistance and durability, is able to withstand the high pressure of overlying structures, so it is used for the construction of walls of basements and the foundation of houses. These characteristics are inherent only in materials produced at the factory, since the blocks made in handicraft shops do not correspond to the declared parameters.

Fundamental blocks have a monolithic structure of concrete M-100 and M-200 in the form of a parallelepiped with reinforcement inside. On the sides of the block FBS has special grooves, which during the installation are poured with mortar, which provides increased strength of the structure as a whole.

Types of blocks

FBS-blocks are of several types depending on the size and destination and, accordingly, differ in price. The following types of blocks are produced: length 78 cm, 118 cm and 238 cm, width 30, 40, 50 and 60 cm. The same height for all is 58 cm.

All of the above characteristics are indicated in the block name. So, for example block FBS 3 is a block, the length of which is 300 mm. They most often spread the walls of the cellars in private construction. The second digit indicates the width of the product, the third indicates the height. For example, foundation blocks 6-6-6 FBS have a width of 60 cm, a height of 60 cm and a length of 60 cm, respectively.

All concrete products are produced in accordance with GOST 1978. Recently, some manufacturers, trying to improve and speed up the process of making blocks, use steaming instead of using natural drying. On the quality of products, this almost does not affect, but on the trade turnover is positive. After all, if the FBS unit undergoes a natural drying, it can be used no earlier than 3-4 weeks, and after steaming, this reinforced concrete product can be laid on the 2-3rd day.

FBS Block Laying

The laying of blocks begins with the preparation of the soil to which they will be put. It is necessary to make a sand cushion with a thickness of at least 15 cm. In general, the depth of the blocking depends on the type of soil. For example, in the sandy soil, the FBS block should be laid at a depth of 40-70 cm, and in the base with an increased content of crushed stone - more than 50 cm. It is worth paying special attention to clay and loamy soils, since clay has the property of swelling when freezing.

The installation should begin with corner blocks. It is worth noting that when using FBS 24, the cost of erecting the foundation is reduced . Crane costs are significantly reduced, since the number of stacked blocks decreases. The amount of solution consumed to seal vertical seams is minimized due to the fact that their number decreases.

In practice, it can be seen that over time, the use of foundation building blocks does not lose its popularity.
