Main characteristics

Adonis Amur is a perennial herbaceous plant from the family of buttercups. It has a short and thick rhizome and slightly branched low upright stems about 30-40 cm in height of a light-lilac shade. The lower part of the stem is covered with scales. Leaves in shape resemble an oval or a pentagon, are sharply cut into narrow linear strips. Flowers in diameter do not exceed 5 cm, collected in a bundle and located on top of the stem. An interesting feature: the flower of Adonis has a large number of stamens of various lengths, sometimes up to a hundred, covered with fine pollen of bright yellow color. This is one of the earliest dustpits, especially loved by bees. One flower produces from 3 to 6 mg of pollen.

Blossoms adonis Amur in March-April, fructifies in May and June.

Fruits are complex, in the form of numerous single-seeded nuts or pouches.

But be careful: despite its attractive appearance, the plant is poisonous.

Adonis is an Amur. Planting and care

In the people it is often called a Goricvet or Starodubka.

This is a perennial plant. Propagated by seeds and division. The usual period of flowering is 2-3 weeks, in terry species a little longer. Each of the flowers has 20-30 petals, the outer side of which has a bronze outflow. In July, flowers and stems die, the root system goes into hibernation. But even in this state, constant moistening is required, drying out will ruin the plant.

Adonis is planted in areas with well-moistened and drained soil.

Reproduction in ordinary flowers occurs freshly harvested seeds. Unfortunately, double types of seeds do not form. Therefore, in the early spring or immediately after flowering, the bush is divided. In this case, they should be planted as soon as possible in the soil, otherwise the plants will not survive. As you know, adonis badly tolerates drought.

The density of planting on the average is 5-6 bushes per 1 m 2 .

Care and reproduction

The plant does not tolerate stagnant water at the roots, so soil drainage and regular loosening are necessary. Adonis loves the sun, with poor lighting poorly developed.

An alkaline medium is preferred. To do this, it is useful to add some lime to the soil.

Adonis in a duet with other primrose colors can become a wonderful ornament of the garden. Yes, it is considered a complex flower. But with all the conditions for boarding and leaving, he can settle in the garden for many years.

Healing properties

Since ancient times, the Amur adonis has been used in medicine and is part of medications that have a calming effect on the central nervous system. His biological activity is very similar to Adonis spring, he can successfully become his substitute. The use of Adonis Amur in the medical practice is safe, although it is more toxic in its composition than its counterpart.

This plant is also a part of medicines that regulate heart activity, helps with kidney diseases, colds, malaria, colitis, cramps, hysteria, removes excess fluid from the body, has an analgesic and soothing effect.

Protect and protect

Often unreasonable behavior of a person, erroneously called economic activity, fires, unjustified recreational load lead to sad results. Many species of plants and animals have disappeared irrevocably or are on the verge of extinction.

Among the disappearing and Adonis are Amur. According to preliminary estimates, now there are no more than 5000 units in nature. Today it is included in the list of rare and endangered plants of the Amur Region, and in the Khabarovsk Territory it is listed in the Red Book. Adonis Amur is protected by the Khingan State Reserve, is cultivated by many botanical gardens in order to increase the number. Also monitoring of the quantity of this species, especially near settlements and large-scale economic objects, is being conducted with the population about a complete ban on harvesting the plant.

Such actions make it possible not only to preserve the disappearing plants, but also to increase their population, to save nature for future generations.
