Kolkviziya charming: planting and care

The beautiful collation is a beautifully flowering spectacular shrub that can be found on the territory of Western Europe. This plant is grown also in the central part of Russia. Here, the collication grows well if it is possible to create its optimal conditions.

Short description

The beautiful collation is a species that belongs to the linea family. The native land of the plant is the mountainous regions of China. The name of the colliculus, the photo of which can be seen above, was received in honor of the botanist Richard Kolkwitz.

This branchy shrub looks like a vygel. In height, the plant can reach two meters. Young shoots near the caulk are covered with small hairs.

On the old branches of the callus, the cortex acquires a brownish-red hue and exfoliates with plates. Approximately in mid-April young leaves begin to unfold, which have a broad ovoid shape and a pointed apex. Their length is on average about 8 centimeters. The leaves are opposite.

How does the flowers ring?

And did you see how beautiful the flowers are in the suburbs? A similar phenomenon can be observed approximately in the middle of summer. The plant blooms abundantly: under a layer of gently pink petals, almost no bright green. In itself, the flowers are small. Their length does not exceed 1.5 centimeters. Paired flowers have a fragrant aroma and are very similar to elegant cups.

After flowering fruits are formed - boxes covered with bristles. This happens in the autumn. The length of such fruits is no more than 6 millimeters. In this case the foliage of the plant is colored in bright colors.

Where is it better to plant a caucus?

The beautiful collation is a light-loving plant that prefers light, but fertile soil. Of course, the shrub requires reliable drainage, as well as regular moistening of the soil. When choosing a suitable location for the cricket, it is worth paying attention to what winds prevail in the area not only in summer but also in winter. It is very important. The plant does not tolerate winter cold winds. Therefore, the bush should be carefully hidden, even if this will exacerbate the illumination.

When and how best to plant a caucus?

Kolkvitsiya, landing which is carried out usually in the spring, does not like the cold. Therefore, the shrub should be planted only after the soil warms up, and the kidneys may not yet be open. If there is a choice, it is better to buy a seedling in the store with a closed root system, in other words, in a pot.

To ensure that the care, which is easy to care for, grows well, it is necessary to properly prepare a place for planting. The pit should be dug by a depth of half a meter, while the diameter of the recess should be at least 40 centimeters. At the bottom of the pit, a mixture of sand and humus should be laid out. Planting kolkvitsiyu should be in the evening or in bad weather, and the roots of the plant need a little pruned with a pruner. After finishing the planting, the bush should be thoroughly watered.

In spring or at the very beginning of summer the plant can be fed. It is best to add organic fertilizers to the soil.

Mulching

Several times a year it is necessary to mulch the near-trunk circle. For this, you can use shells of pine nuts, sawdust, bark and wood chips. It is worth noting that the mulch helps protect the roots of plants in the hot period from overheating, and in the cold - from severe frost. In addition, this material allows you to keep the soil moist much longer.

On the soil around the bush should put the mulch. The thickness of the layer should be from 7 to 10 centimeters. If there are weeds near the trunk of the plant, then they should be removed. As for the diameter of the coating, it should be equal to the projection of the crone of the collication or to be greater than about 15 centimeters.

Mulch the soil around the plant better in late spring, when the soil has gained a lot of moisture, and also in the autumn, when the first temperatures appeared below zero.

Is it worth protecting the cold from the cold?

The collation of the charming in the first year after planting needs additional protection from the cold. The crown of the plant can be wrapped with kraft paper. If this is not the case, then it is recommended to use non-woven covering materials - spunbond and lutrasil.

Remove such a cover can only be in the late spring, when the air temperature will not fall below zero. Of course, the callus belongs to frost-hardy plants, but young sprouts can freeze in severe winter.

In spring remove all dry twigs. But the rejuvenation of the crown should be carried out only after flowering. This will only have a positive effect on the growth of the colliculus.

Reproduction of the bush

So, how does the callus multiply? Photos of this plant amaze with its beauty. Each mistress seeks to grow such a charmer on her lot. However, not every shop can find seedlings of the collication. In this case, you can use different ways of reproduction of this shrub. As a planting material, the layers, cuttings and seeds are suitable. In addition, the bursa multiplies by dividing the bush. The best way is to use a lead.
