Russia And Thrombosis of Deep Veins: Is Real A Threat?

RUSSIA and thrombosis of veins: conspiracy of silence?

In Russia, so far few people know:

1 / that in most developed countries, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) have emerged as one of the leading causes of mortality. The situation is so serious that in the USA, in the accepted (in September 2008) at the initiative of the Chief Surgeon (Minister of Health), "Call to prevent DVT and PE" these diseases are called "the main problems of public health" [1];

2 / that "the tragedy of these diseases (deep vein thrombosis) is the complexity of diagnosis, because their symptoms are rather vague and vague. Approximately, in 50% of cases, DVT proceed secretly. Very often the first symptom of DVT is fatal PE (here is quoted from the message of the Director of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and the United States, included in the "Call for Prevention of DVT and PE"). [1];

3 / that, since 2001, the World Health Organization (WHO) has persistently warned of the direct connection of DVT-PE with a long (from 4 hours) finding a person in a sitting position - in particular, during tourist trips by car , Buses, trains, airplanes or river vessels. Statistics of the WHO says that for one out of every 4,500 people making trips of such activities, the business ends with PE. [2];

4 / that in Russia PE is, as a rule, fatal;

5 / that, if you apply the statistics of WHO, then taking into account the geographical extent of the country and the volume of passenger traffic, from fatal PE, only more than 23 thousand Russians per year (!) Are killed every year as a result of (unscrupulous) 4,5,6,7];

The death rate of Russians from road accidents only slightly exceeds the above figure, however, it served as the basis for the adoption of the Federal program "Improving road safety in 2006-2012", while the high (taking into account all the factors leading to the disease) mortality from DVT -TELA is not accepted in any calculation!

6 / that there are a number of factors that repeatedly increase the risk of developing DVT. Among them - the use of oral contraceptive means, increasing the risk up to 20 times (!) [8];

7 / that the governments of the majority of developed countries have taken measures to widely inform the population of their countries about the causes, possible fatal risks and available measures for disease prevention. In particular, in most developed countries such information is mandatory on the websites of ministries of health and transport ministries, as well as on the websites of passenger airlines and travel agencies. [9,10,11];

8) that reliable information on the causes of the occurrence, possible fatal risks, factors that increase the level of risk and the measures of affordable prevention of DVT-TALA is actually closed to most Russians (!) , As there is no information:

- on the websites of Russian ministries, including the Ministry of Health website;

- on information stands of Russian polyclinics, hospitals and universities;

- on information stands of railway stations, airports, trains and planes;

- on the sites of the largest Russian passenger carriers.

Obviously, by interacting with foreign partners and studying their experience in transportation, RZD, Aeroflot and Transaero have full knowledge of the multiple increase in the risk of DVT-PE due to medium and long-distance passenger traffic. However, RZD completely ignores the interests of its customers, without providing them with any information about it. As for Aeroflot and Transaero, they mislead their customers. Not indicating the seriousness of the problem, and not indicating the cause-and-effect relationship with the service provided to clients, without mentioning DVT and PE (!) , Air carriers provide information on their websites that could contribute to the prevention of DVT, but do it in a form, Which can not provide either a correct understanding, or the correct use of this information by their customers. Thus, the requirements of Article 7 "The Consumer's Right to Secure the Goods (Work, Services)" of the RF Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights" of 07.0292, No. 2300-1, are violated violently and for a long time.

- on the websites of travel agencies of the Russian Federation;

- in the standard instructions on labor protection for the relevant categories of workers;

- in the "Temporary list of harmful, dangerous substances and production factors ..." [12];

- on the labels (instructions for use) of oral contraceptives approved for sale in the pharmacy chains of the Russian Federation.
