Instead of the preface

The seventh part of the epic racing saga "Fast and the Furious" after the official release on the screens took the fourth place in the rating of the highest grossing films in the history of cinema. At the box office, the film has collected more than 1.5 billion dollars. On the very production of the film, the Universal film company spent about $ 250 million, spending rose from the original 190 million after the death of one of the main actors, Paul Walker. The lion's share of the budget went to high-quality special effects in order to adequately complete the film with the image of Walker. But the costs of high-end stunts, stunning cars and shooting abroad are also considerable.

Where did "Fast and Furious 7" shoot and why? Actually, very often the budget of the film does not allow to conduct surveys in those places where the action takes place according to the scenario. Therefore, in most cases, the shooting takes place either in special pavilions, or in some cities of America, similar to the type of scenery necessary for the area.

Geography according to the scenario

The action at the beginning of the seventh film takes place in the city of angels, as in the first part. Jason Statham's anti-hero, Deckard Shaw, gets into the police department of Los Angeles and, having received the information he needs, disappears after an encounter with agent Hobbs in an unknown direction. It turns out that he went to Tokyo, to take revenge on the first of his goals - Khan. Thus, it turns out that the prequel of "Fast and Furious 7" was not only the sixth part of the franchise, but also the third - "Tokyo Drift".

After some time, there is an explosion of the House of Toretto - Dominic, Brian and Mia receive a message from Shaw and learn about Khan's death. Dominic goes to Tokyo for the body of his friend, where he meets a local friend of Khan - Shawn Boswell (these shots were not taken off again, they were taken from the third film). Further, the plot again returns viewers to Los Angeles for the funeral of Khan, after which Dominic's acquaintance with "Mr. Nobody", which promises to help in the search for Deckard, if Dominic and his friends will get the "Eye of God" - a super tracking device of a new generation. She reveals the secret of the location of the eye of God - this is Abu Dhabi, where and go Dominic, Brian and the rest of the team. After getting the device, they return to Los Angeles.

"Where the film" Fast and Furious 7 "was actually shot. Before...

Two film crews worked in parallel in different places, in Colorado and Arizona, over one of the most difficult and incredible tricks in the history of "Fast and the Furious" - an exciting race on a rocky road, lost somewhere in the depths of Azerbaijan. Some of the most epic shots were filmed at Pikes Peak (Pike National Park), Colorado. The so-called Caucasus Mountains were found in this locality because it proved to be quite costly to shoot in Azerbaijan, as indicated in the scenario.

There, scenes were shot in the air, in which cars were thrown out of the cargo plane. These were really natural tricks, not computer graphics. However, due to bad weather and a lot of precipitation, the surveys were turned off and moved to another place. Despite everything, the mind-boggling races on the mountainous terrain to the creators of the film were a success. The main place where the film "Fast and Furious 7" was filmed was the city of Atlanta, Georgia. It was there that most of the film's material was shot by the time of Paul's death.

... and after the tragedy

It is known that Paul Walker himself was also shot in Atlanta. But after his death, in 2014, the actors and the rest of the crew went to the United Arab Emirates, in Abu Dhabi, where they shot "Fast and Furious 7" on, at least, many panoramic shots. After all, to reproduce such a colorful landscape and the specifics of architecture in the conditions of the United States was impossible. In the film itself, at moments in Abu Dhabi, Bryan was repeatedly shown close-up, his interaction with other actors was dynamic, so it is likely that most of the dialogues and important scenes were shot in advance in the States before the death of Paul Walker.

The last place where they shot "Fast and Furious 7" was one of the beaches of Malibu. A huge number of fans of the franchise are grateful to the filmmakers for the fact that they still found a way out of such a difficult situation and did not kill the hero of Paul Walker, but made a worthy end to his story.
