Gene Roddenberry is known for being the author of the idea of the science fiction media franchise "Star Trek".   • Aileen Rexroit was his school friend. The marriage lasted from 1942 to 1969. They have common children: Doune, who became an actress, and Darlene.

  • Medell Barrett starred in "Star Trek", on the set of which the future spouses met. She played the role of nurse Christine Chapel. The couple were married in 1969 and did not separate until Jin died. In the marriage with Medell, Gene had a son, Rod (05.02.1974), who became a television producer. He is known for writing the script for the series "Earth: The Last Conflict", and also is the producer of the series "Star Trek: New Adventures" and "Star Trek: Discovery."

Work on the "Star Trek"

The idea of creating a fantastic TV series at first did not find support from television channels. Died Gene Roddenberry on 24.10.1991. A year later, the urn with his ashes sent to Houston. The urn was transferred to the space shuttle Columbia as a private baggage. The particles of Roddenberry rose above Florida and reached the cosmos.

In 1997 his ashes were once again launched into space. This time he was blown away by the Pegasus rocket, along with the remains of twenty-three space enthusiasts. Among them were the remains of James Duhan.
