He drove so boldly on a bicycle that, one day after flying on a rock, he "crashed", collapsed at full speed from a bicycle and came home with a broken nose. As Leonid Yarmolnik grew up, his interests also changed. In the senior box office he suddenly fell in love with literature, began to dream of a theater. The father wanted to see in the son of the successor of the family dynasty of the military, but it seems that the soul of Yarmolnik Jr. did not lie to this matter at all. He first became engaged in the studio at the city folk theater, and after school left for Leningrad, deciding to act "on the actor." The first attempt was unsuccessful. The young man who grew up in Lviv was rejected by Russian pronunciation. I had to return home with defeat. However, Leonid Yarmolnik did not intend to finish the biography of the artist. The failure did not dishearten him, he did not discourage. He decided not to give up.

Courageous step towards destiny - to Moscow!

He wanted to become an artist, this dream firmly settled in his head. The next attempt, he decided to do already in Moscow, in the theatrical school. Shchukin. Surprisingly, in Moscow no one was embarrassed by his "Little Russian" reprimand, and Leonid Yarmolnik successfully passed all the tours and found himself in the lists enrolled for study! Famous actors became his teachers: M. Ulyanov, A. Shirvindt, V. Etush. Prostetsky and charming Yarmolnik settled in the hostel, quickly got himself a lot of friends. Alexander Abdulov was among them in a special place. This friendship lasted for many years, until Abdulov's death.

Theater and the world of cinema in the life of Yarmolnik

Yarmolnik was, like many novice artists, ambitious, wanted and felt the strength to play not only in the theater, but also in films; To act in order to be recognized by the viewer. Then the theater youth rushed through the capital's film studios in the hope that they would be noticed. Some really noticed. But Yarmolnik was not one of those lucky ones. In Yarmolnik, many filmmakers did not see their movie heroes. They offered sometimes tiny episodes in which the viewer did not even have time to see the actors' face, not that remember the name. So Leonid Yarmolnik lit up for a couple of seconds in the episodic "role" of the happy groom in the feature film "Townspeople".

In the native theater the situation was not so deplorable. True, he did not give the main roles, but on the stage he went out regularly. At least, he played in the productions more often than he did. Famous Yarmolnik made a television screen. From the telecast "Around Laughter" his famous tobacco chicken "fluttered" and made him a favorite for a huge audience. Now the audience remembered the artist.

Alexander Abdulov helped his friend to get to the set where they worked on the film "The same Munchhausen", and Leonid brilliantly played the hysterical son of the main character. Then there was the gangster Gnus in the movie "The Sleuth".

For Yarmolnik for a long time entrenched role of the negative hero. Although in all these "bad guys" there was something elusively attractive, brought into the role of an actor. The new life of a free artist

The 80's have changed a lot in the life of Leonid Yarmolnik. Instead of Anatoly Efros, head of "Taganka", left for treatment in England and Lyubimov left there.
