We alarm if the child's eyes fester

Conjunctivitis. This term in medicine refers to the inflammation of the mucous membrane of the eyeball. Does the child have a faint eye? There is increased tearing? The eyelids swelled and reddened? Most likely, the reason is conjunctivitis.

A disease in which a child 's eyes get wet, can be caused by a virus (this kind of conjunctivitis often occurs against the background of acute respiratory disease, influenza and other colds). Another common pathogen is bacteria (staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus, pneumococcus). Often the cause of conjunctivitis is an allergic reaction (for example, pollen of plants or wool and saliva of animals) or weakened immunity. Most often, the child's eyes fester because of bacterial conjunctivitis. The disease can be identified by such a sign as abundant purulent discharge, gluing the baby's eyelids and forming yellow crusts when drying.

Infection with conjunctivitis can occur in the womb. In addition, the baby can get an infection during the passage of the birth canal, so future mothers should carefully monitor their health. If the child's eyes fade at the age of six months, the reason is likely to be insufficient care, non-compliance with hygiene rules or contact with an infected person.

Regardless of the way the child is infected, conjunctivitis must be treated unequivocally. However, do not try to do it yourself, be sure to show the baby to the oculist. To get rid of the disease, in which the child's eyes fester, a complex treatment is needed, which includes a whole series of procedures. These include regular washing of the eyes with tea, chamomile solution or furacilin, as well as the use of special eye drops with a soothing effect. In especially severe cases, the doctor can prescribe special antibacterial ointments (they are usually laid for the eyelid baby) or antibiotics. It should be emphasized that if pus is isolated from only one eye, it is still necessary to treat both, because the infection is very easily transmitted.

The reason that the child's eyes are festering can become a disease such as dacryocystitis. It is characterized by an inflammatory process in the lacrimal sac and is characteristic of children who, for some reason, did not have a tear duct at their birth (passing through it, tears wash away the microorganisms, if this does not happen, the bacteria accumulate in the corner of the eye and provoke suppuration). Often the inflammatory process is caused by gelatinous plug, which closes the tear duct.

In order to cure dacryocystitis, regular eye rinses and tear canal massage will be required. For washing, you can use ordinary tea leaves and chamomile tea - this is enough to kill germs. Massage is to do several times a day six to ten pressure in the direction from the outer corner of the eye to the inside. In this case, a small amount of pus should be released from the eye slit. If this does not happen, you are doing something wrong. After each procedure, the eyeball should be thoroughly rinsed. As a rule, after a couple of weeks the symptoms completely pass.
