4. He is obliged to ensure the safety of the material assets in stock.

6. If necessary, he is obliged to improve the skills of subordinates through the organization of relevant activities and work assignments.

This post assumes a thorough knowledge of the features of storage of certain goods, the ability to understand the brands, types, grades, sizes and other characteristics of stored valuables, know the norms for the use of materials. The warehouse manager needs to know the contents of all job descriptions, regulations and other regulatory documents.

As a manager, he needs not only to be able to manage loading and unloading and keep records of material values, but also to know the bases of legislation for the competent solution of current issues and the resolution of labor conflicts. Today, it is important to be able to handle office equipment (fax, copier, etc.) and own computer at the level of knowledge of specialized programs.

Among other things, it is vested with responsibilities for the rational use of warehouse facilities, the maintenance of warehouse equipment, tools and tools, their timely repair, and the collection and return of returnable packaging suppliers. As a person who has all the material responsibility for the warehouse entrusted to him, he must necessarily participate in all inventories (be a member of the inventory commission).

In addition to duties, the warehouse manager also has office rights. The list of them depends on the specifics of the enterprise, but in general they are:

- the signature of documents according to their competence (warehouse and commodity-accompanying);

- submitting proposals for improving the activities of the entrusted site (warehouse) for consideration by the management;

- interaction with representatives of other structural units to obtain the necessary information and documents;

- acquaintance with the draft decisions and orders on the area entrusted to it, the expression of disagreement with a particular point or decision, including the possibility of appeal in due course.

In the event of non-fulfillment by the warehouse manager of his duties, negligent attitude to the case, causing material damage, he may be prosecuted under the law.
