The term of warranty repair of household appliances

One of the important indicators when buying both household appliances and any other commercial or other goods is the term of its warranty service, during which the manufacturer undertakes to perform a free repair in case of revealing any shortcomings or breakdowns. As a rule, in our country, the warranty repair period is approximately 1 year from the date of purchase. Pay attention to the fact that some manufacturers of goods indicate in the coupon that warranty repair is possible only if the goods are purchased exclusively from the official distributors of the company. That is why it is not recommended to buy household appliances on the market from ordinary retailers.

Typically, the warranty service is provided by a specialized service center, which has certain powers to carry out repair and restoration works. Such a center can serve several trademarks of a certain type of equipment or have a specification of a single brand. So, for example, the service center of the South Korean company LG will be able to service all kinds of its equipment, from refrigerators and washing machines to blenders, dishwashers and so on. The maximum period of warranty repair and maintenance of computer equipment, including prefabricated system units and laptops is usually 2 years.

When buying goods, you should carefully study the warranty card, especially those conditions that relate to the refusal of the manufacturer from their services. The matter is that each company establishes the list of such conditions, at which non-observance it has the full right to refuse in free-of-charge service. In most cases, the reason for this is a violation of the operating conditions of the goods.

So, the manufacturer has the right to refuse to fulfill its obligations, even if the warranty repair period has not yet expired, in the following cases:

  1. Absence of the coupon on the fact or incorrect filling of it (there is no signature of the seller, seal, date of sale and serial number).
  2. The product has mechanical damage.
  3. Inside the product, foreign objects were found, indicating external interference in the operation of the apparatus.
  4. If it turns out that the breakdown was due to violations of the operating conditions of the product.
  5. The product has damaged seals.
  6. A surplus of moisture was found inside the product.

All of the above indicates that the warranty repair period is not an unconditional guarantee of free repair of the goods in case of damage. It should also be understood that the warranty period is set by the manufacturer in order to correct those defects that could arise during the assembly of the product. A certain percentage of defective products always takes place, and it is to such cases that the manufacturer provides warranty service.

The procedure for filling in the warranty coupons may differ depending on the requirements of the particular manufacturer. However, in addition to this, the general procedure is also regulated by the internal law of the state where the goods are sold. Thus, in our country the conditions for filling out guarantee coupons and its mandatory items are prescribed in the law of the Russian Federation "On Protection of Consumer Rights", where the terms of warranty repair are legally required Fields to fill:

- product model;

- Name of product;

- the serial number of the product;

- number of the guarantee coupon;

- the date of filling the coupon and the date of sale of the product;

- the signature of the seller and the seal of the firm;

- some data about the buyer (name, address).

Thus, summing up all of the above, we can say that the term of warranty repair is an important parameter by which you can not only ensure your right to receive a quality product, but also to be sure of the manufacturer's conscientious attitude to the goods being manufactured.
