Medicinal product "Fluimucil" (instruction)

Effective mucolytic drugs include the drug "Fluimucil". The instruction to it indicates that the drug is available in 3 dosage forms. The main active substance of this drug is acetylcysteine. It has a pronounced expectorant effect. On the shelves of pharmacies you can find:

- effervescent tablets containing 600 mg of acetylcysteine, citric acid, aspartame, sodium bicarbonate, lemon flavor;

- 10% solution in 3 ml vials containing 100 mg of acetylcysteine in 1 ml, sodium hydroxide, edetate disodium, water for injection ;

- granules in one-gram packets containing 200 mg of acetylcysteine, aspartame, orange flavor, beta-carotene, sorbitol.

Acetylcysteine promotes the rupture of the bonds of acidic polysaccharides of sputum, leading to a decrease in its viscosity and depolarization of mucoproteins. The drug does not lose its activity even in the presence of purulent sputum. It has an antioxidant effect, neutralizing free radicals.

The drug "Fluimucil", the instruction to which recommends its use in diseases of the respiratory system (acute, chronic), penetrates through the cell membranes. Acetylcysteine contributes to the improvement of the synthesis of cellular glutathione involved in the oxidative processes of cells, thereby helping detoxification of hazardous and harmful substances. Due to this property, acetylcysteine is used as an antidote for poisoning with paracetamol.

Indications for use are bronchitis, bronchiectatic disease, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis.

From effervescent tablets prepare a solution for oral administration. Assign to patients from 14 years. The tablet is dissolved in a third of a glass of water and the solution is drunk once a day. The duration of therapy is determined by the doctor individually according to the nature of the disease.

Granules from which a solution for oral administration is prepared are taken in such doses:

- Patients from 12 years: 400-600 mg divided into 1-3 doses per day;

- children 2-6 years: 200-400 mg;

- children 6-12 years: 400-600 mg, divided into 1-3 rivers.

The granules dissolve in a third of a glass of water. The duration of therapy is determined by the doctor individually according to the nature of the disease.

Granules and effervescent tablets of the preparation "Fluimucil", the instruction to which recommends the use of glassware for their dissolution, can not be dissolved in a metal container. Do not let it touch rubber surfaces. Do not inject other drugs into the solution.

A solution of "Fluimucil" is an antibiotic, the instruction to which indicates the need for parenteral administration. Adults receive 1 ampoule (300 mg) 1-2 r. in a day. The drug is injected deep enough and slowly. For children 6-14 liters. Appoint 150 mg of 2 p. Per day, up to 6 years - at the rate of 10 mg per 1 kg of body every 12 hours. The duration of therapy is up to 10 days.

The drug "Fluimucil" (antibiotic for inhalation) is prescribed for 1 ampoule 1-2 r. in a day. The course is 5-10 days.

With endobronchial introduction, adults are prescribed 1-2 ampoules of 1-2 r. in a day. The introduction is performed using a bronchoscope or catheter.

Contraindications: hypersensitivity, peptic ulcer in the acute stage, bleeding pulmonary, bronchial asthma (without thick sputum), hemoptysis.

Effervescent tablets and granules containing aspartame can not be taken with phenylketonuria.

The solution can not be taken with severe kidney and liver diseases, bronchial asthma (without thick sputum).

Side effects: Quincke's edema, itching, skin reactions, anaphylactoid reactions, ringing in the ears, hemorrhage, headache, tachycardia, bronchospasm, dyspnoea, stomatitis, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea, hyperthermia, lowering blood pressure. In rare cases, there is anemia, Lyell's syndrome. When injecting this drug, sometimes burning, urticaria, nausea, and with inhalation - cough, rhinitis, stomatitis, bronchospasm.

At simultaneous reception of the given medicine with some antibiotics (tetracycline, amphotericinum, ampicillinum) activity of both preparations decreases. The interval between their reception should be 2 hours. Activated charcoal reduces the effectiveness of the drug "Fluimucil". Receiving it with nitroglycerin leads to an intensification of the deserative and vasodilating action of the latter.
