UFO: what is it, the abbreviation

For a long time humanity has been seeking confirmation that we are not alone in the universe. Scientists send signals to space and study historical sources, which indirectly mention the visit to our planet by representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations. Experts believe that the most vivid and weighty evidence of the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence are periodically appearing in the sky of a UFO. What is amazing behind these luminous objects? Did anyone see them close? And how real are they? There are more questions in this thread than answers. But let's still try to slightly open the veil of secrecy over the so-called "flying saucers".

What does UFO mean: decoding

When it comes to watching the heavenly bodies, then most often we come across such an incomprehensible word as a UFO. It is mentioned both by specialists and by ordinary people who have nothing to do with outer space. Of course, most often all incomprehensible and strange objects suddenly appearing in the sky, we, without hesitation, call UFOs. The interpretation of the abbreviation is very simple and does not reflect the deep meaning of the word. But we will be impartial: UFOs are understood as unidentified flying objects. And what they should be, science does not explain. According to international terminology, the deciphering of the word UFO assumes that all objects that do not fall under the category of military and civil aircraft used on the Earth are unidentified.

Preconditions. Where did the term UFO come from?

The interpretation of the abbreviation does not give us a complete idea of what kind of meaning specialists put in this amazing celestial phenomenon. After all, the official history of UFOs is only from 1947, when the movement was recorded in the sky of unusual luminous spheres. The name of the objects was given to the American pilot Kenneth Arnold, allegedly witnessed the movement of an entire armada of luminous objects.

The History of Kenneth Arnold

In the distant 1947 it was not too popular to talk about unusual space objects. It would be difficult to explain to people of that time by saying the word "UFO", what do you mean. Most of all, they were worried by the military threat from the larger neighboring countries.

In June 1947, Kenneth Arnold was looking for a wrecked American plane with the military. He circled over the Cascade Mountains and suddenly noticed a bright flash of light. Initially, the pilot thought that the sun reflected from the hull of another aircraft, but flashes began to be repeated from different sides in a chaotic order. When Arnold entered a new circle, his eyes were presented with an incredible sight: nine luminous objects were being removed from him at a tremendous speed. They were not similar to anything known and seen before. And the speed of these strange balls was simply stunning - two thousand seven hundred and fifty kilometers per hour! The pilot checked his calculations several times and decided that these objects are a secret weapon. Arriving at the Air Force base, he made a report about what he had seen. To his surprise, no one knew about the secret trials.

The news of the unusual phenomenon flew very quickly to the newspapermen. They rushed to interview Arnold, then he said that he had observed strange "flying saucers." Many people consider this moment the birthday of a new science - ufology.

Ufology is a science that learns the unknown

The second day of July is considered World UFO Day, this holiday is also called the Day of UFO. The concept of what exactly this science does is very vague. But it is believed that Ufology finally stood out in a separate stream in the fifties of the last century. As an official science it is not recognized in many countries, it does not bother professionals who spend all their time in search of confirmation of their theory about the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations.

It is worth noting that UFOs include many authoritative scientists with a worldwide reputation - engineers, technicians, computer geniuses. But ufologists consider themselves and frankly mentally unhealthy people, who maintain that they constantly contact different aliens.

Often, UFO is engaged in collecting information on various unexplained phenomena, and it is important to find really real cases, confirmed not only by eyewitness accounts, but also by photo and video materials. Such cases are carefully studied and subjected to numerous inspections. Despite the fact that many do not take ufologists seriously, they actively and fruitfully cooperate with many government organizations. After all, if someone really can prove the reality of the existence of "flying saucers", then this sensation will become the most significant in the history of mankind.

Terminology of ufology

One of the achievements of ufology is the development of new terms and methods of research. For example, they slightly expanded the original meaning of the word "UFO" and gave it specifics. After all, in the middle of the last century, every incomprehensible phenomenon immediately attributed to the category of "flying saucers," literally every day in the newspapers there were new reports of observations of them. It was quite difficult for the ufologists to distinguish the truth from the fiction, but more than 90% of all these reports turned out to be falsification.

Not every incomprehensible phenomenon comes up with the word "UFO". The definition given by ufologists to this term substantially simplified the work of specialists. Under an unidentified flying object, it is now customary to take an observation of an explicit object or light clot of energy moving across the sky or in space, whose trajectory, appearance and light support can not be classified not only by eyewitnesses, but also by the scientific community after careful research of materials. Of course, many such testimonies, after careful study, are identifiable, and they begin to be attributed to the identified flying objects. But ten percent remain in the category of inexplicable. What do scientists say about them? What explains these phenomena?

The nature of UFOs: extraterrestrial or terrestrial origin?

Despite the fact that flying objects of incomprehensible nature have been studied for a long time, in the scientific world there is no unity in the theory of their origin. It is still unclear why the UFO appears in our sky. What do they bring to our world?

Many scientists recognize that "flying saucers" still exist, but their nature is difficult to explain. Virtually all disputes boil down to two versions - extraterrestrial and terrestrial. Skeptics believe that modern science has too little knowledge about its planet, and UFOs may well have a terrestrial origin. Glow, moving through the sky, called both unknown species of animals, and energy releases from the bowels of the earth. There are a lot of options, but they are still just theories.

Those who sincerely believe that "flying saucers" are cosmic objects, too, can not give proof of their version. They carefully study the abnormal zones, where UFO is most often encountered. What is there, what attracts luminous spheres to these places, they still have not figured out. But unidentified flying objects continue to be observed all over the world by absolutely different people who, thanks to modern technologies, document their observations.

The most famous cases of UFO sightings in the XX-XI century

UFOlogists collected an incredible number of UFO sightings by various people. It is difficult to say what these phenomena were caused, but they can not explain.

1. The object above the stadium in Florence

In 1952, more than ten thousand Italians saw an unusual glowing ball hanging in the stadium during the match. The object remained motionless for a while, then it fell from its place and disappeared beyond the horizon.

2. Petrozavodsk history

All the newspapers of the USSR wrote about this phenomenon. For almost half a year the inhabitants of Petrozavodsk observed unusual balls hanging over the Onega Lake. They had a golden color and could hang in one place for several hours. One day the ball began to radiate in different directions. Remarkably, they left even holes in the windows of the houses closest to the lake.

3. The Triangle over Brussels

Twenty-six years ago, many residents of Brussels observed a noiseless triangular object, floating at an altitude of three hundred meters. Eyewitnesses noted on the underside of the "flying saucer" three glowing discs and something resembling a grate. One of the citizens managed to remove the UFO on the video camera, this story was repeatedly shown on various television channels.

Of course, you may not believe in UFOs, but it's still hard to argue with documented facts. The truth is somewhere near.
