The nature of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and its protection

This is the second largest region in the Russian Federation, therefore the nature of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is extremely diverse. Here you can see almost everything: both classical dry steppes, and the deaf taiga, and lifeless arctic deserts ... More in any region of the country there is no such set of natural and climatic zones.

Nature and ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

The Krasnoyarsk Territory occupies about 13% of the territory of Russia. From both edges it is surrounded by mountain systems: Byrranga mountains from the north, Sayany and Kuznetsky Alatau - in the south. The region is unusually rich in various minerals. In particular, over 90% of nickel and platinum reserves in the country, about 40% of Russian lead reserves and about 20% of gold are concentrated here.

The territory is characterized by sharply continental climate. The temperature regime is very different, since the Krasnoyarsk region is very elongated in the meridional direction. In the extreme north in winter temperatures often reach -30 ... -35 degrees.

The nature of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is very rich in water resources. Here one of the largest rivers of the world, the Yenisei, flows along with its numerous tributaries. Also very much in the region and lakes - just over 320 thousand! Of these, the largest are Taimyr, Keta, Pyasino, Glubokoe and Khantaysk.

Despite the fact that the region is poorly populated, the anthropogenic load on nature here is quite appreciable. The main culprits of an unfavorable ecological situation are numerous large enterprises of non-ferrous metallurgy and extractive industries, which strongly pollute the environment. It's hard to believe, but a region with a population of three million people a year produces up to 350 million tons of waste. Leading by the number of harmful emissions in the atmosphere and internal water three cities: Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk and Achinsk.

Flora and fauna

The Krasnoyarsk Territory is the edge of forests. Over 70% of the territory is covered with forests, mostly coniferous. Typical representatives of these forests is larch (the only conifer tree that drops its needles for the winter), fir, pine, spruce and Siberian cedar.

The plant world, nature and animals of the Krasnoyarsk Territory are simply amazing with their diversity and exceptional wealth. 340 species of birds and 89 species of mammals live here, including sable, Arctic fox, ermine and reindeer. In rivers and lakes there are over 60 species of fish, many of which are of industrial importance (sterlet, sturgeon and others).

Nature Conservation of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

The riches of nature in the region are trying to preserve, creating a large number of nature reserves and objects. To date, there have already been created 30 reserves, as well as 7 nature reserves, the most famous of which are the Tunguska, Putoransky, the Great Arctic Reserve, the Stolby Reserve . In addition, 39 reserves are planned to be created in the near future.

Monuments of nature in the Krasnoyarsk Territory are also quite widely represented. For today in the region there are 51 such object. These are lakes, rocks, river sites, waterfalls and much more. Consider the most famous and visited from the natural monuments of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Stone Town

The nature of the Krasnoyarsk Territory of any tourist will amaze with its grandeur and beauty. A striking proof of this is the natural monument of Kamenny Gorodok, located on one of the ridges of Western Sayan. These are pillared rocks up to 40 meters high, impressive with their unusual shapes.

There are about a hundred pillars here. On one of them, which is called the Watchtower, there is an observation deck, from which you can admire the overall panorama of the entire Stone Town. Amazing spectacle: quaint, like a man built, turrets emerge from the thick of the forest.

Stone town is a real paradise for rock-climbers. For them, here are organized more than 60 routes of varying complexity. After all, rocks of this pillar shape are ideal for practicing this extreme sport.

Oisskoye Lake

"Water is life itself," as A. de Saint Exupery once said. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory a whole "sea" of unique and beautiful water objects. One of these is Lake Oy - a hydrological monument of nature. It is very popular with tourists because of its geographical accessibility - it is located right near the road.

The lake starts the Oya river, one of the tributaries of the Yenisei. The water in it is very cold, even in summer its temperature does not rise above +10 degrees. This is explained by the fact that Oi Lake is in the mountains - at 1500 meters.

Shinda Falls

Shindinsky (also Chinzhaiskiy) waterfall was granted the status of a nature monument in 1987. The peak of high water is here in May-June. The waterfall is unusually beautiful: a powerful stream it falls from a 30-meter steep ledge. The object is very accessible: you can approach it directly by car. However, hiking to it will bring much more impressions.

The width of the Shinda waterfall does not exceed ten meters. It is located at the foot of the picturesque Moscow-mountain, which, if desired, can be conquered.

In conclusion...

The nature of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is very diverse and diverse. Here you can see pristine forests, cold arctic plains, high mountain ranges, rocks and lakes, stormy rivers and waterfalls. Without a doubt, and even despite the acute environmental problems in the region, this marvelous region of Russia deserves to be visited.
